Questions & Answers

What is the projection from the dimension of the wall?

The rod's back edge is about 2 1/2" away from me. To get a tighter close on the edges, I attached them to the wall rather than the window frame; if you attach to the frame, you can add about 1/2".

When it comes to grommet curtains, how does it work? Is it possible to conceal both ends of the rod, including the screws?

Grommet-style curtains look great with it. That's the one I'm using right now. It does, in fact, cover the rod's two ends. The curtains wrap around flush against the wall, blocking even more light, which is why I chose these specific rods. They're not only attractive, but they're also simple to install compared to other wrap around rods I've seen, and the screws are hidden.

Is there any center bracket hardware included with the long rod?

take a look at the photos I didn't understand what you were saying.

With this curtain rod, how easy is it to change out the curtains? I change mine out seasonally, and I need to be able to remove the curtain rod quickly. ?

It's a breeze. Simply push up on the bracket end of the rod to loosen it, then pull the rod apart to remove your curtains. They also contribute to the darkening of the room. I intend to use these rods instead of the rods I currently have in two other bedrooms that have room darkening curtains. We live in Texas, so the curtains help to keep the heat out as well. The curtains are held closer to the window with these rods, which is beneficial. I would strongly suggest it.

The rods are fantastic
5/5

The rod is exactly what it says on the package. Overall, the rods have exceeded my expectations. For a 126-inch window, I purchased the 144-inch-long rod. I've got four heavy curtain panels up, and the rod isn't sagging. To accomplish this, I had to install the center bracket. Before purchasing it, I read the other reviews. Some people said the hardware was cheap and broke, so I took note of that. I had no problems with the brackets or hardware breaking. If there is one flaw with the rod, it is that it requires a gap of just over 2 inches between the rod and the ceiling. This is due to the fact that you mount part of the bracket to the wall and then slide the other half of the bracket over top of it. In the photographs, I attempted to convey this. The requirement to leave 2 inches between the ceiling and the curtain rod bracket is only an issue if you're trying to hang 96-inch curtain panels in a room with an 8-foot ceiling, as is common in modern decorating for a floor-to-ceiling curtain look. Because I had to leave two and a half inches between the ceiling and the bracket, my 96-inch curtains have a slight dragging effect on the floor. I suppose I could hem the curtains.

The top of the building lets in a lot of light
5/5

This is an incredible rod. It's sturdy and won't budge even when the room darkening curtains are drawn tight. My curtains were heavy, velvet, and completely blackout, and they stayed in place. It does, however, necessitate the use of a drill, which can be a problem if A. You're missing a drill, and B. You live in an apartment where drilling into the walls is not permitted. br>br>In addition, I feel compelled to mention- Because the rod is shaped in such a way that it leaves a 2 to 3 inch gap between it and the wall, light leaks out the top of the curtains and onto the ceiling unless you have something to drape over it or stuff the gap. Please keep this in mind before making a purchase.

It appeals to me
5/5

The curtain's ends are well-wrapped. With my white blackout curtains and large nickel eyelets, I use this curtain rod. It appeals to me. To keep out extra light, the curtain's ends wrap nicely around the wall. It was very simple to set up. With the included screws and anchors, the attachment studs are fastened to the wall. The rod's ends are then slid over them. It has a sophisticated look to it.

This is a set of low-cost curtain rods
3/5

After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase these because they appeared to be well-made. That isn't the case. For one room, we purchased these curtain rods, and for another, we purchased rods from Pottery Barn. The rods from Pottery Barn are by far the most durable. I have a feeling these are going to bend. Another disadvantage is the way the rods are attached to the wall. br>br> A small clip is screwed in to which the rod is attached. The fit between the clip and the rod is terrible, and despite the fact that the clip is securely attached to the rod with no movement, the rod itself moves quite a bit once attached to the clip. br>br>This is a bad curtain rod all the way around.

It's of good quality, has a sleek appearance, and is incredibly simple to put together
5/5

It has a nice appearance, is of good quality, and is simple to put together. Before purchasing this curtain rod, I read a lot of reviews. I like how slim it is and how there are no bulky rod ends protruding. It looks great with the new bathroom curtain I bought. I had a hard time finding a suitable curtain, but this one was simple to install! The smallest setting is ideal for my bathroom window. It was extremely simple to set up. I simply attached one of the slides on one side, then drew a line at the bottom of the right slide with the rod with the other end attached (you can screw off both ends), then screwed the slide into the wall, hung the curtain on the rod, and slid the bracket onto the slide! The quality and appearance are both excellent.

Although the curtain rod is fantastic, the customer service is lacking
4/5

The rod is attractive, and the curved edges ensure that our light-blocking curtain is completely enclosed. Our rod arrived with one piece missing, which is why I gave it three stars. This is the piece that is attached to the wall to keep the curtain rod in place. This is a nice, clean design, but if one of the three back-up batteries is missing, it can be a pain. You won't be able to complete the installation if you don't have the necessary plates. I reached out to Umbra directly and received an email response almost immediately. I double-checked the information we needed and double-checked the location. We have yet to receive this response, despite the fact that it has been two weeks. All attempts to contact Customer Service via email have been unsuccessful. This is a small piece (1. 25 x 1. 25 x 1. 25 x 1. 25 5" in length and 0. 25 in width 5" wide) and could easily have been stuffed into an envelope and delivered to my house by now, but we still have to wait. br>br>Editor's note, January 2019. The manufacturer did eventually send me a complete curtain rod. I believe they sent me a different size curtain rod on purpose so that I wouldn't have two of the same size and have to use both. Instead, I received a much smaller version of the same rod, with only two rather than three supports. I took one from this new shorter rod and was finally able to finish installing my room darkening curtain in my living room. We ordered the shorter rod in April of 2018 and received it a month later. I just wanted to make a minor correction to my previous review. It gets another star from me.

These are well made, the instructions are clear, but leveling the plates for installation is tricky because they are so small, and larger windows will require careful measurements if you don't have a laser level
4/5

The rod, on the other hand, was easy to install once it was in place. When the curtains are opened and closed, the rods are holding heavy, lined curtains with hem weights, and the rods do not sag or move. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, and the installation would probably go more quickly for someone taller than I am, as I am a hobbit.

However, it is durable
5/5

It does not bend or move in any way. This is what I used to hang blackout curtains in my room. Other reviews stated that it did not bend or bow under the weight of heavy curtains, so I chose this curtain rod. This I can attest to. It's a little thinner than I had anticipated, but it's still quite sturdy. I'm pleased because it doesn't bend or move at all! In addition, the rod is attractive. It's understated, and once draped, it's barely noticeable. It wraps around the wall in such a way that it effectively blocks light from all sides. br>br>I'd suggest getting a variety of anchors. Plastic wall anchors are included with the rod. These are completely ineffective. I came across EZ- Anchors were purchased from Home Depot and proved to be very effective. br>br>To install, I measured a few inches up and down the sides of the window, marked anchor spots, and then screwed everything in. I didn't use or require the middle support piece that came with the rod.
