Considering that the aluminum pan is just for holding water to heat the food above, I would say you are able to use it. To fit the divided tray, you would have to make sure your pan has the right dimensions.
I use it exactly as you described. I think the most important thing is the size of these stands, so I believe there is one standard size. I have nbsp As part of my review process, I read reviews on pros and cons of this half pan size before making my final decision on whether it would fit on my new Tiger Chef buffet dish. Most people don't like the thin stainless pan since it is so hard to clean. The others had said they were fine. So I gave it a shot and ordered one. However, it does not disappoint me in any way. You bought 18 dollars for those pans, so they should be fine. They're not very thick and they're not that thick. I mean, 18 dollars is not bad at all. It will not be a problem for me. It's almost as thin as the full size pan of tiger chef. I will be buying another two of this half size pans because I will not have any complaints about it. I ask for some extra care for it so that I do not be careless in My daughter's second birthday will be made out of it. I am very pleased with it.
The shipping handle on my tray bent one corner, likely caused by handling during transport. In just a few seconds it bent easily back into shape so that the tray fit correctly.
