I'm not familiar with the Walmart brand, but I can tell you that these little guys are tough. They look fantastic on my iron doors with light-weight fabric curtains. I keep it on the fridge and cover it with a towel. Mine is one of my favorites.
It's mounted on the sunroom's double doors. This item is extremely durable.
The rod is about 1/2" long, 2" tall, and 1" wide.
To hang a valance or curtain, the curtain rod detaches. Mine is on a steel side entry door with a large window that I use every day. Use this bracket to hang a valance above a pleated shade with the header frame secured to the door frame.

IN ORDER FOR THE MAGNETS TO GET A FIRM GRIP ON YOUR STEEL DOOR, YOU MUST PEEL THE PLASTIC BACKING OFF THE MAGNETS, AS RECOMMENDED IN PREVIOUS REVIEWS. It will remain firmly in place once this is done. I live in the suburbs of New Orleans, on the outskirts of the city. A month before Hurricane Ida hit, I installed the curtain rod and curtain on my new steel door. I evacuated for Hurricane Ida, and I'm glad I did because the storm blew through our neighborhood with winds of 147 miles per hour, and those who stayed described their house walls swaying with the force of the wind. My steel door worked flawlessly, and my curtain rod stayed put! As a result, once the rod is properly installed, a hurricane will not be able to knock it off the door.
This was something I really wanted to like, but it only lasted a few minutes. I went out and bought new curtains that were very lightweight in the hopes that it would help, but the rods would easily fall off if the curtains were touched. We could only keep these up if we never opened the curtains, which isn't an option, so we're returning it.
Remove the magnets' tape as soon as possible. I tested it both with and without tape, and while it will hold with tape, it will hold much better without it. It's a little fiddly to get both sides perfectly straight, but after a few tweaks, it's holding up a blackout curtain with ease. The curtain is definitely sturdy enough to allow me to pull it side to side as the sun moves, and it hasn't fallen down or moved since I found the perfect spot for my window.
Looks superior to the competition- alikes. I'm hanging a light fixture from this rod. It works great as a weight curtain at the back door. When the door is opened or closed, it does not move. I couldn't find the smaller size I needed on Amazon, so I ordered three more from a local hardware store - The others couldn't compare to this one from Amazon, despite the fact that they looked the same. Those magnets were flimsy and didn't stick to the same surface nearly as well.
This is fantastic! It's simple to use and adjust, and the magnet is powerful. Excellent value for money.
I don't think this product would work for anything heavier than a sheer curtain because of the shaky adhesion.
The scenario is ideal. Because of the way I needed to install it, it only has partial metal contact (i. e. Because the magnets are partially over the glass and partially on the metal around the window, they aren't working to their full potential). Nonetheless, even with fairly heavy blackout curtains installed, it holds up admirably. br>br>On my window, you have to be careful moving the curtains or the rod will fall out, but I imagine it would be quite solid if it had full contact with a metal door. If you're not sure if a magnetic rod will help you, I recommend giving it a shot.
My apartment door opens to a breezeway and is made of metal. I wanted to use a portiere style curtain rod (an old European tradition) to hang a drape on it to keep it warm in the winter. I came across a magnetic style that doesn't need to be installed. IT WORKS EXCELLENTLY! According to some reviews, it does not hold up well. So far, when opening and closing the door, it stays put, doesn't slide, and doesn't fall off. The weight of the drape is 1. The magnets are extremely powerful, weighing in at 7 pounds. Furthermore, the cost is less than that of a portiere style curtain rod.
