Because these are extremely powerful magnets, they must be placed on a metal surface. The magnetic tape, on the other hand, I'm not sure about. sorry.
My window has only a sheer curtain, but it can hold a lot of weight. The magnets are extremely powerful.
1 1/2 " tall with finial included, works well on metal doors and requires no screws.
The magnet is about 3/4" wide and about 1" tall. 5 inches in length It's a good size for hanging a light-weight curtain because it's not too big. My french doors were fitted with a rod at the top and bottom. It appears to be of good quality, and I would recommend it. The nickel finish was what I went with.

I bought these to use on my metal door to hold a sheer curtain. Because the vertical magnetic hold is so weak, you can't touch the curtain without it falling down. It stays on the door if you don't slam it shut too hard, but the vertical strength is disappointing. Because of the shaky hold on a vertical surface, it can't be used as a towel rack. I would not purchase this item again.
My requirements were met by these rods. A full glass window is installed in a metal side door. I wanted to drape a curtain over the door's window. While these have a strong magnetic hold, they tend to slide around when the door is opened and closed. It didn't take long for my toddler to figure out that she, too, could disassemble them. I eventually had to move them to the other side of the door (the curtain is now between the screen door and the heavy door). It isn't perfect, but it serves its purpose for the time being. Overall, these are fine, but if you're installing them on a door that gets a lot of use, you'll have to adjust them from time to time.
These rods are ideal for our needs! We recently installed new windows in our double doors, and our old magnetic valance rods had dried out due to age and needed to be replaced. The telescoping ends fit snugly into the end caps, which are made to fit both the outside and inside rods (larger diameter). It was a breeze to install the system. Others complained that the magnets were weak, and that simply bumping or opening the door caused the rods to fall off - This was not an issue for me; when used to the design's/advertised length, they are extremely durable. I can't speak to the performance of the design when hanging a heavier weight drape or using one rod on top and bottom for one door because I don't believe it was designed for those uses. For simple projects, this is a fantastic value!.
These rods are fantastic; they blend in perfectly with my black door sidelights and don't draw attention to themselves. Instead of a sheer, I went with a heavier blackout drape, and it works perfectly. There is no possibility of slipping. It was a great buy.
The rods are very cheap, and they barely stick to the door because they don't fit into the end pieces.
For several years, I've been looking for something similar to this. The steel door that leads from our kitchen to the backyard has been covered by a makeshift curtain for the past four years. A few weeks ago, I finally came across this metal curtain rod. It was delivered the next day after I ordered it. It was super simple to put together; I didn't even have to remove the backing for the sticky part because the magnet was strong enough to hold my light-weight curtains in place! br>I just wish there was a single pack option. A second rod would be useless to me.
My cat constantly knocks them off, but they still look nice, hold up well, and haven't scratched the door in the least.
QUALITY CONTROL IS EXTREMELY WEAK. br>The rod's larger end does not fit into the rod hole. NO WAY. Quality control is extremely poor. IN ADDITION, THE ROD WAS BENT, indicating that it was made of very light weight aluminum or something similar. IMPROPER!.
