Questions & Answers
The rod is made of aluminum and has a diameter of 5/8 inch. The end caps are made of plastic. This rod is extremely durable, and the magnets are extremely powerful.
My dish towel hangs from mine, which is mounted on my refrigerator. Anyway, if I understand what you're trying to figure out, I'm getting about 1 1/4 inches from the fridge wall to the inside edge of the rod.
The rod is only a fraction of an inch thicker than 5/8". The oval magnetic part measures 2"x2 1/2" and sticks out about 2" from the wall. I hope this has been of assistance.
The rod is detached from the magnetic ends.

I used it on the whiteboard in my classroom to hold up anchor charts for Science and Social Studies. Since I put it in my room, the left side of the rod has been sliding down by the end of the day. The annoyance of having to move it back up was something I dealt with. However, within an hour of moving it up in December, the left side began to slide down. If the magnets were stronger, I believe this product has a lot of potential. Regrettably, I had to discard it.

Even when I open and close the curtains, the rod remains in place. The door and the rod are separated by one inch. Curtains with grommets can move freely because of the extra 5 inches. I imagine that if you extend the rod far enough, it will become weak in the middle, but I have mine extended to 27 inches and it is still strong. The magnets are strong and stay in place.
I've had this for about three months, and while it stays put once you put it where you want it, moving it is quite difficult. If you decide to relocate it, both ends of the rods will fall out of the magnetic brackets. It's good in that it's sturdy and not at all flimsy, and the magnets are strong enough to never slip. Moving it to hang something new, on the other hand, is a little more difficult.
This curtain rod was just delivered today. I'm not a fan. Advantages: br>br> The magnet is powerful (at least so far)br> That's all there is to the advantages. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. I needed two rods to hang a curtain over a door window, so I ordered two of them. One of the rods was warped and a little squeezed on one end, making it narrower than it should have been. As a result, I had to use packing tape at the end to ensure that the rod rested "firmly" in the end piece. The tape was a two-sided tape. as well as a requirement; Both of the rods I ordered had sharp ends (I've had knives with less slicing potential). I almost ripped a hole in the sleeve the first time I tried to slide the rod through the curtain. The rod has a non-uniform tension. br>br>Overall, I gave it two stars because it was extremely difficult to get the rod to fit snugly into the end piece without it shrinking or growing and falling out the other side. I can't justify giving it a "1 Star" rating because it (eventually) did the job and is still working. I believe that "you get what you pay for" applies here. It is recommended that you look for something of higher quality and spend the extra nickel.
The design is a little industrial, but the valance hides the bulk of it. It's installed on a steel front door and hasn't moved since it was installed, despite the fact that the door is used several times per day. I'm very happy.
This rod is even more difficult to solve than a Rubik Cube. An end will fall off if you pull on one (or both) sides to make it wider. And along with it, some of your curtain slides off the rod. I had double the trouble because I used one rod at the top of the door and one rod at the bottom. I believe you would be more successful in getting your width correct without frustration if you SuperGlued the ends on before putting the curtain on. They could have also provided a plastic ring where the rods meet/intersect to prevent your sheers from catching on fire. In addition, I did not remove the backing from the tacky/sticky magnets until I was certain of their placement, and the rods scratched my metal door. The curtain rod is still in place now that I've removed the backing, but it can be moved if necessary. Now that I've installed the rods and sheers, it's fine, but I wouldn't buy or recommend it again. It took an extra 30 minutes of aggravation for such a simple rod (there were two of them).
Our postal service destroyed the package, but the seller's package was still intact, and installation was a breeze. I bought a refrigerator without a horizontal handle across the front, so I can't hang my kitchen towels on it. I didn't want a metallic bar, so this was ideal; I took it out of the package, removed the protective paper from the magnetic part, and cut it to fit my door. Yowza! Done and dusted. I don't have access to a smartphone, so I can't include a photo. I strongly advise you to do so. Sturdy and attractive, but I would suggest that you improve the image of this excellent product on your website.
