If you want your letter to stand up on its own, you must order the flat, for example J (Flat). Otherwise, the bottom of letters like J and O is curved and will not stand up on its own.

We placed an order for these and sent them to the incorrect location. We were able to cancel the order and reorder it in the correct location. They were extremely helpful, and we were extremely grateful! These letters (an m for my daughter and an r for her roommate) were intended to be attached to the headboards of their beds by my daughter and her college roommate. It was well worth the extra money to get the larger size, which is extremely difficult to come by. I think the 12" was far superior to the cheaper 9" - In addition, it is of excellent quality.
I went on a mission to find a similar option for a lower price, and these turned out to be excellent quality and adorable! They're made of heavy metal and are extremely well-made. It was simple to install two AA batteries in the back and turn them on with a button press. I hung them on a wall that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" using command sawtooth picture hangers. " After that, I got the 17 to put on the dessert table. " They stood up well on their own, though I did secure them with duck tape underneath. Everyone at the party was enthralled by the cuteness of the letters. It was the ideal birthday celebration! They're great because they can be used over and over. These are beautiful, but they are a little flimsy. The lights will flicker if they are shaken or moved slightly. I'd take extra precautions when setting up the lights to ensure they work.
I bought four letters. I had a problem with 1. The problem was quickly resolved by the seller. As an alternative to the cheap plastic options available, I wanted something sturdier and vintage-looking. These were perfect after the fix. On the subject of longevity, the jury is still out. Additional points for excellent customer service, which will be updated as time goes on.

I'm not a fan of the yellow bulbs that came with it. Please let me know if you have any white or clear bulbs.
This item was delivered on time and in good condition. I took it out of the box, put some batteries in it, and turned it on. This is a very nice product that is simple to use and appears to be well constructed. I'd make another purchase.
