I don't have access to that any longer; it was a gift to my grandson, but it felt artificial: Polyester, in my opinion. It was comfortable, according to my grandson, and did not itch him.
Unless you have an oversized 8-year-old, I think it'd be a good fit. For a long flight to Hawaii, I ordered two of these for our 6 and 3 year old boys. It worked well for them, but we used a small adult-sized inflatable one for our 9-year-old so that we could easily adjust the "fluff" level for him.
It appeared to work well and he liked the face on it, so I bought it for my grandson who was born prematurely and needed support. I must point out that she only used it for support, not as a neck pillow, and that she did not leave him alone while doing so.
For a six-month-old baby, this is far too big. It was actually too big for my 2-year-old daughter. a grandson of one year It's more appropriate for a grown-up.

We bought two neck pillows for a 10-hour car trip with our four and two-year-old children. Yes, they're cute, and they're excited about them, but we discovered a large hole in the seam along the backside of one of the pillows on the very first leg of the trip, which was the day after we received them in the mail. Fortunately, I am skilled with a needle and thread and can quickly repair the situation. I decided it was not worth it to try to get a replacement pillow from the manufacturer because I would never buy another one. The "fur" fabric sheds like crazy, leaving little brown and blue spots all over the place, and the head is so overstuffed that this is the only side you can rest your head on comfortably. Because of the "stuffing differential" between the two ends, resting it on the opposite side is nearly impossible. Please feel free to order this if you want something cute, impractical, and disposable. If you're a frequent traveler like our family, spend a little extra money on an actual neck pillow.
I have a three-year-old child, and I needed something to keep his head from falling out of his car seat while he slept. It appeared to be extremely inconvenient, as well as potentially dangerous to one's neck. I found that, as other reviewers have stated, this item is a little large and pushed my child's head forward a little too much when used as a neck pillow should be used. My vehicle is equipped with a Chico Next Fit car seat. My child can't use it like a regular neck pillow, but he can move it to a more comfortable position than simply letting his head hang. My child also uses the pillow as a regular pillow in bed and enjoys it. Overall, it was a good purchase.
It's a very adorable stuffed animal. As a neck support, it's not very effective. In a car seat, it's simply too big to fit behind a toddler's head. If you try to use it with the opening facing back and the pillow's body wrapped around the front of the child's neck, it will fall apart. Because my daughter wouldn't let me do it, we've decided to use it as a stuffed animal instead.
This was only used for our 5-year-old while sleeping in the car on the way to Florida. The pillow was firm and the fabric was soft. It had a hole in it and was losing its stuffing by the time we arrived at our destination. It didn't stand up to the test of time.
The attention to detail is something I appreciate. Make sure the tag isn't too close to the stitches when cutting it off. Ours had to be restitched, but otherwise it's been fantastic. It's a hit with my son.
I'd like to express my appreciation for the animal travel pillow that you provided. When my four-month-old falls asleep in the car, it is extremely useful. Right now, I'm putting it in front of her to keep her head from falling asleep. This was a fantastic purchase. 😊.
