If my memory serves me correctly, the exact measurements are stated in the description. This is a small wall cross that measures 5 1/2 inches by 3 inches. It's the ideal size for draping over a doorway.
There isn't a metal ring or a hinge. The back of the crucifix has a small hole through which it can be hung.
I'm not sure what I'm saying. I'm guessing they aren't because it wouldn't work for all denominations if it did. br>If it is not blessed, it can be accepted by any denomination, but if it is blessed by one priest, it will be blessed by that priest?br>I recommend that you click on the seller's name, and there is a link to contact the seller to ask questions, so do so. This purchase left a lasting impression on me. I desired a genuine cross that mirrored Jesus' cross. It's lovely, and the corners are squared. Mine has a small knot in the wood, which gives it character and makes it look more authentic. I've discovered that men appreciate this because it makes you stand out. The front is glossed, while the back is plain natural wood with the word "Jerusalem" stamped on it. It arrived in a ziplock bag, complete with an authenticity card made from Bethlehem olive tree wood and a small bookmark with The Lord's Prayer. Although it appears to be something one might find in a Holy Land souvenir shop, this does not detract from the value of the purchase. I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. Don't buy this if you want a cross that doesn't reflect the cross of Christ. Purchase those that have rounded corners and are "perfect" in every way. These, on the other hand, do not reflect Christ's love for me. This was a great Christmas present for my boyfriend, and the price was unbeatable.
It's fine, but the quality of the workmanship leaves something to be desired. It has a polyurethane finish on the front only, not the sides, ends, or back, and the sides and ends are simply squared off rather than smoothed. I can see leaving the back unfinished, but why not finish the front but leave the sides and ends unfinished? It doesn't make any sense. In addition, one of the arms on mine had a knot hole in it. It was a mistake to use that piece of wood. A rough cross might have been acceptable if that was the intention, but this is just sloppy work. br>br>I'm not going to be too harsh because it's cheap, but I'd expect a higher level of craftsmanship. I'm thinking about smoothing it out and refinishing it.
Today I got my cross. Remarks on the cross's art, materials, and workmanship. br>br>Art: This is a complete departure from the Amazon sale image. There is no wavy feature on any of the edges. It appears that you are naked and unattractive. br>Material: br> I'm not sure if the wood is genuine olive. It appears to be made of pine or something from a pallet. There is no grain texture, wood stain, or reddish color to speak of. Ugly. br>Manufacturing: Sharp egdes and a burr on the back. There is no certification or information indicating that it is from olive, Bethlehem, or Jerusalem. The shipment is wrapped in a bubble plastic sheet with sloppy tape, and there is no gift presentation, which is very unattractive. br>br>Religion teaches honesty and truth, but this work of art does not. br>A cheap and cheerful present for someone. Because it's a religious symbol, I'm hoping they'll accept it.
I received a "used, like new" 14 inch olive wood cross from Amazon Warehouse for $20, and it is absolutely stunning and very special to me. It appeals to me. It's also off by 2 mm in terms of squareness. It's perfect, and I'm pretty sure the cross on which our Lord was crucified wasn't perfectly square either. This sample's wood grain and character are exactly what I was hoping for. This is a unique Holy Land treasure that represents the most powerful act of love in human history, and I will treasure it for the rest of my life. Bless our Lord Jesus Christ!.
For my newborn son's room, I purchased this cross. It's absolutely stunning! The two small angels at the bottom are particularly charming. My sister and mother- Both the judge and the attorney general saw it and decided to get one for themselves. Each cross is different and unique, so I ordered a second one for my husband's man cave. Because the color varies, the print is different, and the angels are different, I feel like my son has his own unique item. I would strongly suggest it.
It's a lovely addition to my bedroom decor. It also serves to remind me of the Lord's atonement for my sins. It's even more special because it's from the Holy Land, where Jesus walked and performed miracles for people. I believe it has protective properties that will assist in the protection of my home. I understand that the item itself does not do this, but God does. It's a lovely reminder that he's always present in our hearts.
Craftsmanship is displayed prominently in this room. I bought this to go with other wood to make a gift for a relative, but the first order was sent to the wrong facility and then canceled because it was "Undeliverable" from that location. I'm not sure how something could be considered "undeliverable" from anywhere on the planet in 2021. It was probably sent to Mars on the rover. I ordered another one, and it arrived relatively quickly, which is the only thing I can say about it. My first impression was that it was twisted when I arrived. I work with wood and am aware of how to rectify the situation. The cross's horizontal part was crooked, which was the second thing I noticed. And not just a smidgeon. From left to right, by more than a quarter inch. Finally, it was covered in a clear lacquer, which I can only assume was lacquer. It wasn't even close to being smooth or even. Some areas appeared to have ten coats of paint on them, while others appeared to be completely bare. With the help of a planer and a lot of sanding, I was able to get rid of the crookedness. But it was all for naught because it was only 1/4 square, rendering it useless. That may not seem like much, but it was quite noticeable because it was only about 5 inches wide. The only other positive thing I can say is that it smelled great as it went through the planer! I was hungry after reading this.
It doesn't have that wavy appearance to it. With a bevel, it becomes more straight. It appeals to me more than the photograph. The size is almost 5 inches (I ordered the 4) and is very true to size. The length is 75 inches. br>I'm pleased with the product I purchased. This will be a present. I appreciate that it aids Christians in the Holy Land.
