It is true. Despite the size of the bowl, my mine will hold it without a problem
A good rule of thumb is to choose a size that is 2" smaller than the item that you want to wear. You may choose either 10", 11" or 12" depending on how heavy your item is, as an example, if it is 12" in height.
used a 10x10 plate on it and it worked perfectly.
If you want the plaque to be 2" smaller, choose a smaller size.

I'm very satisfied with the display and aesthetics of it, and I think it does what it's supposed to do. I'd trust the frames, which are quite large and heavy, using it to display decorative plates as well, since they are comparable or heavier than the weight of a large plate.
While not only does it work well, it also looks great. However, when you hold it in your hands, it feels somewhat However, whatever material this is made from feels extremely light and has no problem holding up the large frames for several months now, but if I were displaying an irreplaceable plate or one that held sentimental value, I would probably opt for a stand that felt more solid. I did give it a 5 star rating, however, despite the problems I have mentioned, it looks great and does the job that I purchased it for It holds something upright for display, and that's all I needed from it.
I liked it so much that I bought a second one to secure In the second case, it was flawed, and kept falling forward. By the time the plaque was delivered, it had been weeks. I might have been able to return it. A plate stand that holds up to a 12" plate is what I bought. Measures 13 inches wide by 13 inches high. The plaque is held securely in place by this stand, which is sturdy enough to hold the plaque. For the smaller plaque, I just ordered a second one and received it today. Now I'm not afraid my items are not going to fall over because I love both of them.
The tray fits perfectly to display a platter 14 inches by 16 inches.
The craft store that I bought this from had this. A complete set of easels I bought from Amazon cost almost as much as each of the three easels I bought. Additionally, they raised the pictures so high off the surface they were resting on that they looked outrageous! In the set of three from Amazon, the pictures were raised only 1/2 inch from the surface and are.
Everything is fine with them. I have older ones that are more sturdy and thick, but these are not. It's no longer possible to make anything as they used to or to find anything as hard as it used to be. This works fine for medium to heavy plates in a cabinet, but not for heavy plates.
The platter is fine for large plates. The price is reasonable.
There is less weight than expected in the stand. This is what was going to be in my entryway console table to hold a picture frame. As far as depth is concerned, the given dimension is incorrect. According to the measurements, it is definitely more than an inch. I can't fit this stand on my console table top. It needs to go back!.
The 11 x 14 framed photo can be handled very well by the unit.
