12 CANDLES WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! My money was returned to me after I called Amazon. because "12 count" was written on it. I'm surprised they relisted the item without addressing the issue.

I HATE leaving negative reviews, but I purchased a dozen of these candles and two of them caught fire, so we didn't burn any more and are in the process of returning them. Maybe they're not meant to be burned for more than one day at a time, but we needed to get caught up and figured burning down to day 7 or 8 wouldn't be a problem since we started late. Nope. As you can see in the photo, these candles literally caught fire. This was accomplished by BOTH candles. On the second one, we were able to get a picture.
These advent candles are so cute! As we read Christmas stories each night in December, we'll light these. Purchasing in large quantities lowers the cost - So, go ahead and share some with your friends and neighbors! They do tend to make a big waxy mess, so put them on a plate and, if you have younger children who blow out the flame with gusto, make sure it's on a surface that's easy to clean off wax.
They're very pretty, but they sputter and spit as if the wick contains a trace amount of gun powder. They're also not drip-free, so expect a lot of drips!.
I've been using this style of candle for nearly 30 years, so I bought 12 to give to family members. None of the others I've tried have ever dripped as much as these. They smashed the candle holders and dripped all over the front numbers. I'm not sure if this is the original manufacturer and they've switched to a different type of wax, or if my previous purchases were from a different company. The only reason I'd recommend these is because I like the look of them. Look elsewhere for better quality.
Every year, our grown grandchildren light a candle of this type. This has been going on for over two decades. And I'm pleased to report that nothing has changed.
Good quality and well-packaged!.
These candles were reasonably priced, but the two we used this year didn't burn very well. Every few days, break up any wax buildup on the sides. One of them broke down before the 25th.
For many years, we have used these candles during the Christmas season. As a family tradition, we give them to our loved ones. Unfortunately, they've always been erratic; you might get one that burns great one day and then the next day it burns horribly. (Wax is dripping all over the place, sputtering, and burning too quickly; the one we just started burning is in bad shape. ) The wick is so far to one side of the candle that it is practically outside of it. Unfortunately, it's the first of a dozen candles we've recently purchased, so I'm hoping it's not a sign of things to come; I honestly believe that for the money we pay for these candles, they should be of higher quality.
