Questions & Answers

Where do these come from?

Designed in China

Can I make a birthday cake out of them?

I wouldn't do it. They're much too tall for a cake, in my opinion.

What is the duration of the candle's flame?

The candles had a smoky flame and burned for only a few minutes; they were made in China and did not burn like other beeswax candles I've tried before. The best part of this product was the box; I'm not sure how long the paper would burn.

I give it two thumbs up! These candles are absolutely gorgeous! The most amazing Hanukkah candles I've ever seen
5/5

I wasn't sure I'd like them, to be honest. However, because of the toxicity of traditional candles, I wanted to try beeswax. The traditional blue and white candles are what I'm used to - So I didn't know how I felt about yellow/gold right away. I eagerly opened them, anticipating the "sweet" scent of beeswax I'd heard about - There was no way to tell if it was there or not. I had a thought - Is this beeswax or something else? Placement, on the other hand, was a completely different story. The wax is very soft, and it went into my menorah easily without splintering. They appear to burn very cleanly aside from that. The dripping, however, was the star of the show. Or, rather, the lack of it. Every season, the nightly wax cleaning (especially night 8 because I miss some each night) is my most dreaded task. The worst experience I've ever had with candles was with "dripless" candles - The irony, oh, the irony, the irony, the irony, the irony, the But I'm getting ahead of myself. There is almost no dripping on these! And the leftover nubs are easier to remove than any candles I've ever used. Colors are irrelevant. For the convenience of not having to pick off wax, I can decorate everything else with blue and white! So far (fourth night), they've lasted between an hour and an hour and twenty minutes. ) I'm actually going to order another box for next year because I don't want to take the chance of not being able to find them. I'm so glad I went ahead and bought them. I'll keep using them as long as I can find them.

They smell incredible, but unfortunately, that is where the compliments end
3/5

I received these candles, as well as a menorah, from the same company the day before yesterday. They smell fantastic, but alas, praise must come to an end there. br>br>I was so excited about the new menorah that I took a few of the candles out to put in it just to see how it looked. They all leaned over at a 45-degree angle because they were too small for the menorah. Not only would lighting them that way result in a messy drip below, but it's also *extremely* dangerous. This was especially concerning to me because the menorah is also from Zion Judaica, and you'd think the candles would fit in one of their own menorahs even if they didn't in other brands. However, this does not appear to be the case. br>br>After that, I put them to the test in a Zion Judaica menorah I already had. They didn't seem to belong there either. br>br>Each candle also has a strange bump on the end of the wick that completely covers it. I'm wondering if you're supposed to melt that area enough to support the candle in the menorah, despite the fact that each hole is too small for it. Even if this is the case, there is still a problem because of 1) the additional set-up time. 2) What about the shamash, who needs to be free to light the other candles, even ten or twenty minutes into the burning if one should go out (call me lazy, but given that there are other candles at the same or lower price that *don't* require such set up, it's an issue)? It would be impossible to use it if the melted wax was used to 'glue' it down. br>br>Another, minor disadvantage of these candles is that some of them have small-sized flames. I assume they got colored wax stuck to them after coming into contact with the multi-colored wax. Versions in different colors were created at the same time. I wouldn't mind as much if the candles were otherwise a four or five star item because the pieces are small and the candles are otherwise quite lovely. I still think it's worth mentioning because I know it'll irritate a lot of people. br>br>I chose these because they were significantly less expensive than other beeswax Hanukkah candles, and I've had previous positive experiences with Zion Judaica products (as previously mentioned, I now own two of their menorahs and have no complaints about either). Instead, I wish I had spent a little more money on candles that would fit in the holes of the menorah. They look lovely and smell wonderful, but I can't recommend them if they aren't able to fulfill the mitzvah for which I purchased them.

Long-burning, drip-free, and odor-free
5/5

Even when the menorah is lit multiple times, these candles will burn for about an hour and 20 minutes, making them the longest-burning candles I've found. They have no scent, which is disappointing given that they are made of beeswax. In addition, the diameter was a little off. br>They did not drip at all, so there was no mess to clean up at the end of the burning process, which was convenient. br>br>Overall, they were of good quality, and I intend to purchase them again.

I'm really pleased with these
3/5

They were much larger and more beautiful than I had anticipated. I don't use them for Jewish rituals, but I'm really looking forward to using them. I deducted a star because they smell like regular wax candles, but I couldn't be happier with them otherwise. I'm also going to get the ones that are natural colored. )br>br>ETA: ETA: ETA: ETA: ETA: ETA: ETA: ETA: Another star deducted because all of the free candles were stained with red. Color is important to me, and I'm sure I would be concerned about the appearance of these if I were using them for Chaunakah. The other colors, on the other hand, do not have this issue.

I didn't get all of the candles I ordered
3/5

Tomorrow is the eighth and final night of Hanukah, and I'm missing three candles. Moreover, the candles were dripping profusely. I was under the impression that beeswax candles were dripless. This is the last time I'll purchase this brand. I'm going to count any candles I get to make sure I'm not missing any.

These aren't beeswax candles in the traditional sense
3/5

These candles did not burn well and dripped, as well as emitting a strong petrochemical odor in the box and no beeswax odor when burned. I use beeswax candles on a daily basis, so I know what they're like, and this isn't one of them. I guess you get what you pay for, because the low cost of so many beeswax candles astounded me. The riddle has been deciphered.

My New Chanukah Candle Favorites The thickness of these candles was very appealing to me
5/5

They fit snugly into the holders with only a little effort, and there was no need to melt the bottoms to secure them (except for a couple that were thinner than the others, but that was no big deal). I also appreciate the fact that beeswax burns cleaner than petroleum-based products. candles made of paraffin wax.

It's lovely, but it's a little strewn together
4/5

The color is stunning, like a deep, rich crayon. Like, and they don't smell like parafin candles when they're burning. They're a little drippy, though. I'm not sure if this is due to the natural properties of beeswax or because some of the candles were not perfectly straight. To catch any possible drips, I recommend placing a sheet of foil under your menorah.
