I can't comment on how well these candles "perform. " Last year, however, I purchased dripless candles from a Ner Mitzvah. They were visually appealing as well as drip-free - made it easier to clean up the Menorah I would have preferred better packaging because the candles arrived in a simple envelope, and while the boxes appear to be in good condition now, candles can easily break during shipping.
UPDATED: The amount of wax dripping from these "dripless" candles is incredible. In the box, there is only one spare candle. If more than one candle burns out, you won't be able to make it through the holiday season. Furthermore, they do not entirely fit in the menorah. Some of them are too wide for my machine, which has resulted in a few breaks. Basically, these are the WORST Hanukkah candles I have ever purchased, despite their beauty. br>br>Having said that, they are very attractive and burn for about an hour.
This year, instead of buying the $2 box of Hanukkah candles from the grocery store, I decided to buy 'nice' Hanukkah candles. I'd had enough of burning the ends to get them to sit straight and'stuffing' them into the holders every night. My son wanted nice ones as well, but he preferred a less expensive brand. br>The less expensive brand fit right into the holders and worked perfectly! To get into the holders, these more expensive ones required even more melting and convincing. It was inconvenient because the bottoms were rounded and'stuck out' a little. The wick was so close to the surface on the bottoms that they frequently caught fire when we burned them to melt the wax. br>However, I gave them four stars because they lasted much longer than the cheaper ones and are SO PRETTY once installed. But now that I've had my pretty candles this year, I'm pretty sure I'll go back to the less expensive candles next year. During this time of year, we tend to travel with our hanukkiot to various homes, and we only used my son's because of the convenience of his cheap candles.
Who'd have guessed that Chanukah candles could be so bad? They need to be tapered to fit a standard menorah; The decorative coating begins to flake away; They are prone to breaking; They're also not particularly drip-free, which was my primary selling point. Oh, and they're three times the price of a regular candle box. Next!.
For several years, I have used these candles in various colors. They're as close to dripless as a candle gets, and they last a long time. lasting. I've discovered that putting them in the freezer makes them last long enough to be used on a Friday night.
These candles are lovely to look at, but they are prone to breaking in half when placed in a hanukiah (I have to use putty to keep mine upright). It is simple to repair the candles by lighting the sides to reseal the candle, but it is inconvenient.
They're lovely to look at, and they didn't drip at all, which was a pleasant surprise: )br>Because it was the first night, only two candles were lit last night. br>If the dripless trend continues through all eight nights, I'll buy these again.
CANDLES ARE THE BEST!! For a few years, I've been purchasing candles from this company. These days, rather than buying cheap candles that burn too quickly and drip all over the place, people are buying multiple boxes to give to family members to enjoy. To all of you, a happy Chanukah!.
