There are many thin but large trash bags in this picture. I feel like they are like the trash bags in hotels that are changed a lot. Whether they are large or small, they work for the trash cans that are in bathrooms. The 13 gallon trash cans are not really suitable for a 13 gallon kitchen if that is what you have. I like them for other uses, including outdoor storage.
It is true that these bags are much tougher and larger than grocery bags (or the produce bags, or the carrying bags). yes, they can also be used to store food later (which is a lot bigger than we usually need). There is no zip on these bags and they aren't as thick as freezer bags.

This purchase from Amazon was less than I had anticipated, and I got my favorite brand and quality 10 gallon trash bags quickly and easily. In my kitchen I have a shallow receptacle that is perfect for these 10 gallon bags, and the same is true for my trash can in the bathroom. The number of garbage we produce is very low between my spouse and me. As soon as we earn our money, we purchase our own Aerobin to compost our kitchen scraps in. It is so rare to find compostable trash on a daily basis.
