I've been using a mop refill with stripes on one side and longer blue fibers on the other for a while now. When used with a laminate floor-specific spray cleaner, the stripe side of that refill does an excellent job of picking up dirt. I assumed it would be the same as the previous one, but with two of the striped sides removed. However, it's a different fabric blend or something, and it smears the dirt and leaves streaks. As a result, I am unable to use it.
Debris would also become stuck in the cloth and never come out. The O- A huge improvement is the cedar flip mop and microfiber refill. The microfiber is thick, so nothing sticks to it, and I can clean the entire kitchen with it before flipping it over to go over it one last time; it has a much larger surface area than a Swiffer, so it saves me time and effort. When I'm done, I simply wash it with my other microfiber and it looks brand new.
I really like how well this cleans my floors! I use it to mop my entire house; my only complaint is that the Velcro prevents frequent washing in the washer. I like to wash them after every mopping in my house, which has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a den, and an office, all with hard wood floors. The Velcro makes it the easiest and most efficient mop I've ever used. Also, do not dry them in the dryer because this will reduce their lifespan by half.
The microfiber pads clean up spills and lightly soiled floors well, and it's convenient to be able to switch to the non-microfiber pad if necessary. When you need to, you can use the soiled side. The pads are simple to apply and remove once they have become soiled. Then toss it in the washer with a load of towels and it'll be good as new when you need it again. I like having a backup microfiber pad on hand so that if the first one gets dirty, I can use a clean one.
Not only are they top-notch, but they also look fantastic on my laminate and tile floors! I've had the O- for a long time. I've had my Cedar Flip Mop for about 2 years, and the mop cloth that came with it is still going strong! I bought two "refill" cloths as backups because even a small load of whites (we all prefer black socks) takes a long time to accumulate. I'm confident that, with proper rotation, these cloths will last us for many years, possibly even longer than the mop! br>br>I come up with my ownbr>br>PROS: br>It works great on any hard floor surface. br>It also works well for spring cleaning when used dry. Cleaning the ceiling fan blades, dusting the walls, and getting rid of those pesky cobwebsbr>High quality- After well over a hundred uses, it still looks great! CONS: br>br> br>My only criticism is that it can be difficult to get into corners when using the cloths with the mop. We're not going to be able to win every single one of them. This was purchased as a replacement for the mop head.
The refill was not absorbent, despite being terry on both sides, which I preferred to the one with the duster on one side. It pushed the cleaning solution around on the floor, but it didn't pick it up. I ended up having to clean with an old broken swiffer and a bar rag. In the washer, I washed the microfiber flip mop refill with other towels and rags, as well as soap and bleach. I tried it again, figuring that it might have had sizing or some other production material on it that prevented it from being absorbent right out of the box. It still won't soak up water, soap, or floor cleaner. It was a waste of money, and I would have returned it if I hadn't already thrown away the packaging and tried to use it twice.
I've been using O- for quite some time now. They've been doing a good job for years with the Cedar Microfiber Flip Mop Refill. They're more suited to waxing than cleaning the floor. We use them to clean our hardwood floors, and no matter how many times we clean the mops during a cleaning, there is always a film on the floor.
