I was extremely dissatisfied with the outcome. My textured vinyl floors can only be cleaned with these magic eraser mops. My four children clean up after themselves, from crayon smudges to scuff marks to day-to-day messes. baby food from the past! I'm hoping to be able to continue shopping on Amazon. These were a great deal; they usually cost $9 each in the store and last for a few months. So I'm estimating that 6 will last me a year. I was concerned that the price might indicate that they were fake (after all, who would counterfeit a mop?). Stranger things have happened, however. ) They are genuine and function flawlessly.
For spills that are a little more difficult to clean up, this is far superior to most sponge mops. A sticky spot on the kitchen floor was removed. However, they are not as durable as eraser sponges. My best piece of advice has nothing to do with mopping - It all boils down to the type of flooring you select. My tiles are 12" squares of white porcelain, but the color isn't an issue. It has a lot of raised surface and texture dips (like looking at a distant planetscape), so it's a much better shoe scraper than a floor. It won't be long until I hire someone to smooth the surface with whatever machine is necessary.
All six Mop Refills had defective threaded screw holes. Bradshaw Home Products, the manufacturer of Mr. Clean mops and refills, was contacted to express their dissatisfaction. They did, however, return my call. Be aware that this is a Chinese-made product of poor quality.
Clean Magic Eraser mop. When my local stores stopped carrying mop head refills, I was relieved to discover these online. They are identical to the ones I purchased in the store previously. They are a little more expensive than some refills, but I find that they work better, so I am willing to pay a little more for better results.
They don't quite line up with the older mops' handles, but with a little elbow grease (or a drill bit), you can get them to fit. I can't live without my mop because I have a senior dog who will go outside if he's feeling well and the weather isn't too bad, but sometimes he's lazy or tired, and I come home to accidents. This mop has come in handy on numerous occasions.
The original mop head was replaced because it had become worn out. The spacing between the mounting screws on the new heads did not match the spacing between the mounting screws on the mop. Because the measurement was off by about 1/8 inch, I had to ream the mop holes in order to use them. Because the corrosion on the original mop head made removal difficult, it's a good thing replacement screws were included.
My kitchen floor is a worn linoleum. Mr. Clean mop is the only way to get rid of the white squares. These are nearly impossible to come by in the area. I was relieved to discover that multiple mop heads could be replaced. Hooray for Hip-Hooray for Hip-Hooray for Hip-Hooray for Hip These mops come highly recommended by me.
These original equipment manufacturer refills are appealing to me. I like the magic eraser, but I wish it lasted a little longer.
