There is no elastic on this item. A bed skirt is attached to a platform that sits on top of the boxspring.
It does have a platform, to be sure. It's also made of real fabric, unlike my previous one, which had a polyester center that melted in the dryer! This one is of much higher quality, and it is also long enough.

Sure, it's soft, but how often do you rub your face against your bedskirt? Here's the deal, friends: this thing is nice and soft right out of the box. However, after washing it, it shrinks significantly in the dryer and becomes badly wrinkled. If you enjoy bringing out your ironing board and dragging your queen-sized bedskirt around like a Victorian lady in pantaloons while ironing it, you'll love this bedskirt, which you can iron while churning butter with milk from your cow at 4 a. m. This was purchased to cover our box spring and keep dust out of our hard-floored bedroom. It has shrunk to the point where a small army of dust bunnies could walk in at any time.
The poor quality of this bed skirt astounded me; on one side, they ran out of fabric, so there's a seam with a small piece stitched on to keep it going. Also. The hem on the bottom isn't done properly. All it goes through is a serger! It's a good thing I can sew and fix things myself! I'm extremely disappointed.
This is a great white bed skirt with good material and stitching. It comes out of the dryer wrinkle-free and ready to return to the bed in a few days. This bed skirt is one I would recommend.
Because of the, I was concerned about the color. I looked at about 20 websites for this price, from designer to discount, and it's AMAZING. I was concerned about the color because the Amazon screen image of the color "sage" appeared to be too bright. The color is exactly what I was looking for; a mid- The tone is sage, with no extremes of brightness or darkness. It's of good quality. The ruffle length was perfect, and there was no shrinkage after washing and drying it on low heat. I ironed a little bit - most likely superfluous - Simply put, I'm a snob.
What I got was yet another bedskirt that resembled a cheap motel sheet. There are no gatherings at the seam, indicating that this was not intended to be a RUFFLED bedskirt. This is a bait and switch that has now happened twice.
I despise ironing, so I spread it out on my bed, spruced it up, and put it on. It looks great, and the wrinkles I left have vanished. The split in the bedpost is just right. My room is lovely, and it has taken on a completely new appearance! I purchased matching curtains. I'm extremely content!.
My quilt looks fantastic with the dust ruffle, which was precisely 21" long. Exactly what I needed for my bed. Even though it was wrinkled, I tossed it on the bed and lowered my ironing board. It had been ironed. Instead of ironing it before putting it on the bed, I found that this method worked better for me.
It was wrinkled when I got it out of the package, but once I ironed it, it didn't wrinkle again. It has yet to be washed. I wouldn't call it wrinkle-free in the sense that it's wrinkle-free right out of the box. It's fine once ironed; I like the product; the color is nice. The fabric is of good quality, and because it was a special long length, it was exactly as long as I required.
