As for this pad, it is fairly thick, so I doubt you will feel any warmth underneath it if you have another pad under I have seen my husband use a heated throw blanket on top of the bed to keep warm. I just measured it for you and it is definitely 79 inches long and 35 inches wide. As we use it on a twin bed in an RV, we had to cut 2 inches off the width.

To give my grandchildren a comfortable place to sleep on the floor, I use this product. tested it myself, and it is very comfortable when layered with a blanket. Despite the packaging compressing the product extra in transit, I had no problem with it opening up. For me, it didn't smell bad, and the expanded nicely where it had been compressed. I received the order in a timely manner as well.

There is no real thickness to it. Approximately 1 " and about 2 " are the heights of the main parts, and the tops of the egg crates are 1". It is thin, very basic, and overall not very interesting. Pain relief is what I use on my bed with this product. I really have found it helpful with my chronic pain condition caused by a car wreck more than It would have been nice if this item came in queen size as well.
