There is no way these blankets will be cool enough to use in the summer. The only blanket we use in the winter is a lamb's wool blanket with a flannel top and bottom (kittens sleep with us, so cat hair is kept off the blanket). These blankets are strongly discouraged from being purchased by people. There's more pilling and lint in each of the three that I bought than any other item I've used. In addition to the blankets, the pills/lint have found their way onto all the furniture in my home as well as any clothes that have been worn. The vacuum has been run and the lint removed A few items failed to roll, but others rolled moderately well. Since I accept that I will have to live with the pill/lint from these blankets for many more years, I have given up trying to avoid them. It's not the way I am. Purchase the blankets but don't use them.
Blankets such as these are very nice to own. I have to agree with the reviews, it is super soft and it is the perfect weight (especially for the summer in the Pacific Northwest). Although I will spend about 15 minutes picking off the lint from the blanket or vacuuming it off, still it will cover everything it touches. There's nothing better than snuggling up with a soft and fuzzy blanket. When I first liked it, I didn't like it anymore. Upon receiving the couch, I washed it and took it with me on a road trip with my husband. I loved it until I realized it shed all over my clothes, so it wasn't really my favorite. I'm pretty much out of the sweater and leggings I was wearing that day -- can't seem to get all the shedding fibers out of them, even after washing them and drying them. That blanket should not shed that much after it has been steamed! There's no excuse for that.
