Questions & Answers

What exactly are the queen's dimensions?

My bed is a queen size, and it has about 6-foot of space underneath it. Both sides are 8" tall. It is a good fit for my bed.

Is it possible to program this blanket to turn on at a specific time, or does it have to be turned on manually and then turned off by a program?

No, I don't believe so. I usually turn it on 30 minutes before going to bed and turn it off 30 minutes later.

Is it a light item?

It's light, warm, and functional, and it's super easy to clean (wash on warm and hang to dry). It's never shrunk or lost its shape.

Is it possible to order a replacement cord that includes the control box?

I'm not sure what the answer is, but the label lists www. biddefordblankets is a website dedicated to the sale of blankets in the biddeford com. You might inquire directly with the company.

Replacements failed even more quickly

JUNK! It was purchased on November 14th and stopped working on January 24th, a little more than three months later. My previous electric blanket lasted 5 years, but this one is a complete waste of money. After some troubleshooting, it was discovered that one side of the controller, as well as the blanket, is dead. The other side of the blanket and the controller are fine; this blanket had not been washed or used extensively, and the electronics had simply failed. br>br>I contacted the manufacturer, who charged me $25 to replace it under warranty. It sat for the entire summer before being plugged in on October 15, and the second one died 25 days later. These blankets are a complete waste of money. AVOID IT. I was on hold for ONE HOUR before getting a call back from customer service. I'm not sure how they've managed to stay in business for so long.

The possibility of a fire has been raised

Be wary! Before it broke a few weeks ago, I had a Biddeford twin sized blanket for about two years. I figured that since I'd had that blanket for so long and had no complaints, I'd just buy another one in queen size from the same company and be fine. What a colossal blunder I made. I've only had this blanket for two days, and already I'm having issues. br>I tried turning on both controllers first. Only one of them would turn on at all, and the other would read an error code seconds after it was turned on. I followed the instructions in the blanket's instruction booklet (because the blanket is so new, I haven't decided whether or not I want to keep the zippered bag for storage, so both pieces are close at hand). It instructs you to perform the expected actions, such as turning off the computer. 15 seconds to wait; unplug; Ensure that everything is securely fastened; After that, I tried to turn the controllers on again, but only one of them worked. The second and most serious issue arose at this point. br>A small stream of smoke was now coming from the single controller that was turning inform from start to finish and reading the error code! For a brief moment, I thought I was hallucinating because I couldn't believe it was possible. I disconnected every wire, stuffed it back into the bag, and tossed it down the hall! br>I decided to look online to see if anyone else was having a smoke problem, and I discovered that Biddeford blankets are a known fire hazard, and they continue to make blankets without really addressing the problems. br>I'm not sure if I was lucky with my first blanket or extremely unlucky with this one, but I'm not sure I'll ever buy another Biddeford blanket. I absolutely adored my first blanket, and my review would have been very different just a few weeks ago. However, I draw the line at fire hazard, especially when the product has been in my possession for less than a week. It's a good thing I wasn't sleeping because things could have gotten a lot worse.

Don't throw your money away

I'm stuck with the blanket and no way to pay for it. This was the first blanket I received as a present. The screen went from indicating the degree of warmth to E in less than ten days. After the letter E appeared, the blanket refused to heat up. We tried to get heat from the blanket for days after it was unplugged, but the letter E appeared. I accepted the gift and returned it. I ordered a new heated blanket from Biddeford in a different size, but it wouldn't heat after two weeks, and the E appeared. On the 32nd day after the purchase, I was sick with the flu and called the company. They stated that you did not purchase it from us, but rather from Amazon. They have my money and I have the blanket after about 45 days. I've sent a single email to explain the situation. There has been no reply. I'll give it another shot; any manufacturer would stand behind a product for at least 60 days, if not a year. That is not the case with this blanket. That does not strike me as particularly wise.

I will continue to buy from Amazon and DealYard because their products are excellent

I was going to give it five stars, but my daughter-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in- When the law opened the blanket, he discovered it was covered in animal fur. She was going to wash and dry it to see if it would help since they live in an apartment that does not allow animals. I'm hoping this will help my son, who is allergic to animal fur. She liked the color and said it was soft. Things happen to us that we can't control, so why get worked up about it? I will continue to buy from Amazon and DealYard because their products are excellent.

I loved this blanket and used it back and forth from the living room to the bedroom it was very comfortable and cozy it worked for most of the winter but by the end of March it had short-circuited on one side I was minding my own business watching TV in bed when I suddenly felt strange excessive heat next to my foot where the wires are then I smelled a little bit of fat fire smoke smell and when I looked down I noticed the wires were blackI unplugged it replugged it and it just worked.

Let's see how long this goes on for

The wife desired one because she suffers from severe leg cramps when her legs become cold at night. Over a decade ago, I stopped using Biddeford and Sunbeam heated blankets and space heaters. I've lost track of how many of these dreadful heated blankets I've bought for myself or someone close to me over the years, only to have them break down after a few weeks or, if you're lucky, last an entire winter season. They are absolute garbage in my experience, and they are designed to fail early so that you have to spend the money on a new one. And you might as well forget about the warranty on them; you'll end up getting the runaround from the manufacturers and having to send the blanket and/or controller back to them (at your expense), after which you won't hear from them for weeks, if not months, and if you call to inquire about your warranty claim, you'll be told "it's processing. " When a replacement is finally sent, you can bet it will either be defective right away or fail within a few weeks. This was purchased solely to amuse and please my wife. Because I have such a low opinion of these companies, I'm starting them with a one-star rating (based on previous experience), and depending on how well it works after a few weeks, I may give them a higher rating when I update. And, whether it's good or bad, I'll keep you up to date.
