That meant I paid more than $3 per night for 35 nights until the blanket broke. Electric blankets from the 1970s lasted a very long time. Why can't electric blankets last much longer than a month these days? br>br>The blanket was not abused in any way. It sat on our bed and did nothing. It wasn't folded or moved in any way that could have caused it harm. It was simply made in a low-cost manner. It should not be permitted to sell inferior or defective products. Electric blankets were a thing of the past for me. I bought four of them over the course of three years, and they all failed within a month or two. Electric blanket patents dating back to the 1970s should be obtained and used by manufacturers. Today's designs are obviously all failures that should not be manufactured or sold.
For Christmas, I purchased four of these blankets for my family. We've only used them a few times for home movie nights, and three of the four have stopped working and heating. A 75% failure rate of a gently used product within 2 months is unacceptably high. Three of the blankets' wiring has stopped heating up, and one of the cords has also stopped working, with the control no longer lighting up. br>br>I purchased four blankets for almost $300 and would like a refund. Purchases should be avoided. I'll let you know if the company actually offers a refund, but there's no word yet. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Three of the blankets were returned to Amazon for a refund. The fourth blanket had finally given up the ghost.
When purchasing a queen-size bed, you should keep in mind the following: You'd expect an electric blanket of this size to have heating elements all over it. You'd think this would be the case, but it's not the case. br>br>If you have a twin brother or sister, If you want a king-sized bed, go with the queen-sized bed. Because your entire bed will be heated if you use a king-size blanket. As is, the middle of the bed is heated, but there is no heating element between 18" and 2 feet on each side, so you never get any heat.
It worked great for about two months before half of it stopped working; if I leave it on, half of it will get warm, but that's all. I was going to return it, but I figured I'd been waiting too long for a refund or replacement. Should have lasted at least two months at that price.
It's incredibly soft and heats up quickly. I liked how easy it was to adjust the timer and heat settings with the simple control. I'm returning because the middle section of the blanket is only heated by wires, not the entire blanket as shown in the pictures. Only the middle section of the 77x84 blanket gets warm when I use it. There are approximately 18 inches on both sides where there are no wires and thus no heat. Despite the fact that it fits a full-size bed, it only warms a twin-size bed.
After about four days of heating, only the top of the blanket remains warm. For my chronic pain, I rely on heating pads and blankets, so this was a huge disappointment. I'll be returning.
This is, without a doubt, the best electric blanket I've ever had.
