The blanket's small care instructions tag reads, "According to the small care instructions tag attached to the blanket: br>br>"•Machine Wash (with a 40°C icon)br>OR br>•Hand Washbr>•DON'T Wringbr>•Separate from other clothes"br>br>There are no instructions for drying.
This is extremely subjective, and I quickly became accustomed to it. I will say that I also have a different brand that (a) is 5 pounds heavier and (b) has much larger boxes/quilting, which I occasionally notice, even after months of use.
I just got mine, which came in a plastic bag with a small tag on it that said "made in China."
I've used it both ways, but I prefer to fold it at the bottom of the comforter. I put the comforter away and only use the weighted blanket and sheet at night. It's scorching hot outside.

I was perplexed as to why, in Florida, my wife would wrap herself in four blankets and then turn on the fan because she was hot. It all made sense to me after seeing an advertisement for a blanket like this. One was purchased for her. When she first saw it, she was underwhelmed and skeptical. Now she won't sleep without it, and I don't have to sleep with that damn fan on all night. It's fantastic.
The paper that came with it appeared to have been created in class by a student. Was this blanket made in accordance with any rules? Clearly not made in the United States, but it also does not appear to be anything sold in the United States! It has the appearance of something found at a flea market. I'm disappointed that this was "amazon's choice," as it gave me a false sense of security; I won't be able to use it and will have to return it.
It's not a regular blanket; it has weight to it, and it's great for body ace. I use it to have it weigh down on me like a lady massage, and it's made of good material.
br>I'm even considering getting one that's a little heavier than the 15 pounder I got. It instantly puts me to sleep.
My bag was open and appeared to have been used when it arrived. Sorry, but all of the reviews say you should wash it at a laundromat because it's hard on appliances, and I'm not doing that because you sent me a used blanket. I placed a second order and am hoping it is not a re-order. I couldn't wait to give it a shot.
It was a fantastic find, and I was ecstatic. It keeps me from tossing and turning and is a great value for the money. It has a certain cuddly factor to it. I haven't washed it yet, so I can't say for sure, but I plan to sew two old flat sheets together (on three sides, closing the fourth with a shoelace or something) to make a homemade laundry bag, so when I do, it will be ready to use. I won't have beads clogging up my machines if it breaks apart. (Could also be used to make a duvet cover. ) ) The seams appear to be in good condition, and the weight distribution is even. Between the sheet and the comforter, I tucked it in. br>I haven't yet overheated, which I am prone to. I'm glad I finally found one at a good price; I'm going to buy another for a family member.
This blanket had a mildewy odor and no tags indicating what it was made of or that all of the materials were brand new. I returned the blanket because the odor was too much for me.
This blanket is fantastic! I'm about 130 pounds. I'm 40 years old, and the 15 pound weight is ideal for me. It's not too heavy and has the feel of a small hug. It's not as stiff as it appears in the photos, which was a pleasant surprise. The zip bag was open inside the box when it arrived, but this was most likely due to the weight of the blanket shifting side to side, putting pressure on either side of the bag, which slowly unzipped it. So, just because the bag is open for you when it arrives doesn't mean it's been used, as another reviewer suggested.
