We used these to hold the blankets down we were using for couch covers. They worked great. Usually, they only need a poke through the couch cover at the top and a twist to work. The couch cover should not be too loose, and be careful not to step on them when you do. Don't get too enthusiastic when you put them on as well. If not, you'll get mad at your roommates when they have to take them all out to take off the couch cover.
Twist the pin until it is securely in place, then tighten your fingers.
It does a great job of keeping my headliner in place. I'm not sure why they're so hard to twist into the ceiling because they're so tiny and they hurt your fingers, but once they're up there, they stay in place. This is a far better alternative to.
The screws are ok but I have to rescrew them every now and then. It was also tricky to get them into the creases on the couch where they should be.
I found that Honbay's clear plastic 100 PC's work well on chair covers, as they make my chair covers fit smoothly and correctly.
