This is the right size for your 9-year-old. This suit fit both of my sons, 7 and almost 10 years old.
This is what I use for my 3 year old, but how it would work for your 8-year-old depends on his size. They may be able to pull it off if they are on the slimmer side.
For an 18 month old, this isn't a good idea. Even my 4 year old finds it hard to use it

This is the first time my daughter has ever loved a She now experiences a forward head movement when she falls asleep in the car, since she is bigger and has to use a booster seat with a back. However, she will still experience some forward head sway while using the pillow, but she still gets the support from the pillow that keeps her from being in a dangerous.
I have been looking for and trying to design it for him. In comparison, other travel pillows cause a problem for little kids as the part that rests behind the neck pushes their heads down and forward. He can keep his head up with this one because it's narrow at the back. There are some cushions that are too squishy to support a child's head on the side, so they end up flopped over sideways in their car seat. The design of this website is fantastic. A pillow wasn't comfortable to him at first, but he eventually got used to how it felt and opted to sleep upright most of the time. It was as if his head fell forward.
Snaps hard to undo. I moved the adaptable car seat of my 4-year-old into a 5 point harness booster seat, but it no longer reclines back in a sleep-friendly manner. In the car, now that he is asleep, he finds it very uncomfortable to have his head flop forward. I think he would really enjoy this pillow. My only suggestion would be to change the snaps used to fasten the pillow around their necks. Since little hands have no chance of taking the pillow off on their own, it is rather difficult for them to unsnap. It would be great if Velcro could be used instead.
If your child is in a car seat or booster seat with some head rest on the sides, it'll be good for him.
It is by far her favorite thing to have in the car. For my four year old, I appreciate how small it is behind the neck so it can easily fit and is comfortable to wear. Moreover, I really like how it is buttoned in the front so that her head does not fall out. The kids in the car love it, and she asks for it every time she gets sleepy. Very satisfied with the service provided!.
While I have tried many other travel pillows, all of them have support on the sides, but this one has both sides and the The best way to break up long drives is to take a flight. Children would be happy if there were kids designs. I am very pleased with the purchase and I strongly recommend it to those considering it.
I have a high back booster for my son and it does what it is supposed to do. Only one I have found so far that is thinner around the back of the neck, thus preventing my son's head from being pushed forward. I love.
The shape and the fact that he is just over three years old are the main reasons.
