I'm not a fan of the fact that folic acid is used in this. Because their multivitamin contains only pure folate, I didn't realize this product contained folic acid until it was too late.
I just wish they didn't contain Biotin because (1) it causes most people, including myself, to break out and (2) I have to stop taking them at least a week before every thyroid test because Biotin can cause labs to be altered, so I'm worried about not getting enough folate and other nutrients during those 7-day periods. Every month or so, I take about ten days off. A Biotin-based product is required. Option to use for free.
These were one of the 'cleaner' prenatals on the market at the time, so I bought them. Because the pills had such a strong odor when I first received them, I assumed I had gotten a bad bottle. I ordered a replacement, which smelled even worse than the original. So I assumed it was just the smell of the product. I followed the directions and ate with a meal, but I felt sick the entire time. single. I can't return the item because I ordered a replacement, so it's a $50 bottle of pills that will go to waste. I usually tolerate vitamins and supplements well, but I'm not sure what's in these that's making me feel so sick. I regret to say that I do not recommend these.

Because I've had good results with Pure Encapsulations' other products, I purchased these for my pregnant wife. She became nauseous and developed hives on the back of her neck after taking this. Because she was already experiencing morning sickness and hormonal changes, we didn't realize it was the PreNatal at first. br>br>The hives eventually spread all over her body, and her face began to swell. We went to the doctor, who warned us that if her airways began to close, we would need to go to the ER, and we were forced to use cortisone cream (a class C drug) to keep it under control. We wanted to avoid this at all costs for the sake of the unborn baby, but we didn't have a choice because of the situation this product put us in. We figured it had to be the PreNatal vitamin after eliminating everything else she'd started taking. Her nausea subsided after she stopped taking it, and the swelling gradually decreased over the next two days. I'm not sure what they put in it, but for the sake of pregnant women and their unborn children, they need to be more cautious and conservative. My wife has only one known allergy: crab. We've switched her to a b complex with folic acid and DHA for the time being, and she's doing much better. You must exercise caution.

I have food sensitivities and some serious medical issues, so it was critical for me (and my doctor) to find something that wouldn't interfere with my treatment or dietary needs. Thankfully, I came across Pure Encapsulations near the end of a long and exhausting search.
However, after doing my own research, I discovered that this brand had a lot of great vitamins that I needed for both my baby and myself, even better than what the doctor's office recommended. I've placed an order for a second bottle. The price is a little high, but I'd rather pay a little more for good quality than cheap junk. There were no negative side effects for me, and it appears to be very gentle on the stomach. I'm looking forward to trying out some more products in the near future. Thank you for making high-quality products that are free of artificial ingredients, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and chemicals. I strongly suggest it! I'll be using it for any future pregnancies as well. My OB says all of my labs are normal, I'm in good health, and my blood pressure is always low, so I trust the product. These prenatal pills make me feel like I'm in the best shape of my life.
