I received a rancid, spoiled package from Amazon. The expiration date is August 21, and I've kept them in a cool, dark place as advised. Even though I am well past my morning sickness phase, I gagged and almost puked when I opened them this evening. The vitamins had a rotten fish odor to them. Previous bottles of this vitamin, particularly those purchased at CVS, did not have this revolting odor. I understand that these vitamins contain fish oil, but what I smelled tonight makes me concerned about my and my baby's safety if I took the spoiled vitamins. They were simply disgusting. I've passed the return deadline, but I believe Amazon should refund my money so that I can buy these somewhere else that doesn't smell like death.
I bought these specifically for what they can do for our child and me. Choline is easily ingested in everyday meals, but because I've had concussions before, I switched to this for the extra choline to reduce inflammation in my brain and prevent migraines while pregnant, since I can't take much when I do get one. It appears to have been extremely beneficial; After a while, I notice that I don't need anything else to keep a migraine at bay, such as a cup of coffee (pop/soda aggravates migraines). These are also one of my favorites because they never have a bad taste.
I'm sure there are better options available!.
It's not uncommon to come across a product that simply works. During my previous pregnancy, I took these prenatal vitamins, and I'm taking them again this time. I was fortunate to learn that my child is perfectly healthy at her 20-week ultrasound, and I credit much of this to taking the right vitamins. These have been tried and true for years, and I trust One A Day's brand; I especially like how the bottles feel the same now as they did nine years ago. The pills are identical, easy to swallow, and have no unpleasant odors or flavors. Keep doing what you're doing because it's working.
I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have been taking this brand since the first week of my pregnancy. There are a few soft gels that have broken inside the bottle. The odor is also wired, and it smells like fish, according to some comments. Despite the high rating, I have to say that I am very disappointed.
I haven't had them long enough to comment on their effects, but I can say that their condition and smell were fine (I did notice on the container that this product should not be stored in heat above 77 degrees or in humidity, so ordering it during cooler temperatures may be preferable). Two pill bottles are contained in the pink box. Red-colored prenatal multivitamins are found in the main bottle. Brown capsules (bottle marked as a product of Spain) about the size of a large cod liver oil tablet. The choline tablet (bottle marked as an Italian product) is in the other bottle. It is a fairly average sized pill.
The majority of multivitamins contain extremely high levels of B12, which I am allergic to. My skin begins to break out after a week or two on other multivitamins. I've been taking it for three months and have had no problems, nor have I noticed any of the odors or strange tastes mentioned in other reviews. The bottles are delivered in the same condition as if I had purchased them in a store. My fiancé and I created a spreadsheet comparing the contents of One A Day with Choline to those of five other popular brands, and this one appears to have the best balance of them all. My body seems to agree with me.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant now. This batch has a distinct flaw. As soon as you take the larger red pill, it emits a foul odor. I understand it's made from fish, but none of the other pills I've been taking have ever had that, and there was also residue all over the red pill's bottle, which makes me wonder how old these pills are. These aren't going to work for me! They're making me sick to my stomach. I'm in desperate need of a replacement!.
