There's no indication on the label that it needs to be refrigerated after it's been opened. For the past three months, I've kept it on a cool, dark shelf with no noticeable changes. It appears to be fairly stable, in my opinion.
It says it has gelatin in it, but doesn't say much else. (details are not provided)
These are soft gels that can't be opened. I suppose they could be cut, but it'd be a huge mess. It is not something I would suggest. My husband takes these 1 inch long soft gels, but I prefer the Omega- 3 Now brand. Take three mini gels three times a day, for a total of four. They contain a good amount of EPA and DHA and are less expensive than the other brands I looked into.

We have to take a lot of pills, so this product is a lifesaver! Instead of taking 12 1000mg fish oil pills per day (that may or may not be fresh enough to have any neurological effect if purchased off the shelf at Walmart), I only have to take 3 of these at breakfast and 3 at lunch - and the quality is consistent, so even after years of using this brand, I've never had to throw away a bottle that was no longer effective for my purposes. I like that it's concentrated, which means I don't have to take as many pills, but the coating is tough. The flavor is bitter. The coating on all of the other Omega 3's that I usually buy is much more flexible than this one, and they don't taste bitter. I'll revise my review to see if the higher EPA concentration makes a difference. My condition was helped by DHA.
It was 41 years ago that I first started taking "amounts greater than recommended" on a daily basis. They make a big difference in my life as a soon-to-be-80-year-old man, and I feel like I'm 50 despite my age. I sleep well, eat well, keep my weight under control, and continue to work as a high school and college sports official. No one knows how old I really am.
I'm a big fan of these capsules! I like that each serving is only one capsule, as opposed to three capsules in other brands. The capsule can be taken with or without food first thing in the morning. These soft gels are the most easily swallowed for me. Highly recommended for a simple pill to swallow.
It's recommended by an osteopathic surgeon, like a lot of supplements, and I have no idea if it works because it's just one of many. All I can say is that I'm still alive, and my joint pain isn't nearly as bad as it used to be.
It's entric coated, so there's no taste, but I've found that if I take it with acidic drinks, I get a fishy taste.
