It has been several months since I last used Vital Proteins. The program opens and seems to work just fine at first. The melt appears to age over time and its ability to disintegrate quickly and completely is decreased. There are clumps that don't dissolve and the clumps don't disperse. Apparently dissolved particles rise to the surface of the liquid and cover the surface of the liquid, further inhibiting the dissolution of the clusters. To dissolve the foam, you need to stir quickly to get the floating undissolved particles to dissolve. Using a spoon to push liquid over floating undissolved particles will help them Somehow you wind up with a bunch of sticky mini clumps floating around, and they stick to the side of the cup, your spoon, or your teeth if you try to chew them. It has been such a hassle dealing with that brand.
When I mix it with coffee, I used about 8 oz, but I think less would also work fine. As for its efficacy, it shouldn't be affected, at least not with the amount of water it contains. But staying hydrated is always good advice.
