ASTAXANTHIN - Astaxanthin is a carotenoid extracted from the microalgae haematococcus pluvialis, which is one of the richest sources of astaxanthin in nature. The pigment is red in color and gives crustaceans like krill, lobster, and shrimp their vivid pink hues.

ANTIOXIDANT - Astaxanthin has a unique structure that is why it has high antioxidant capacities (acts as a free radical scavenger). It is believed that astaxanthin is much stronger than other well-researched antioxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin E, CoQ10, lipoic acid, and beta carotene, because of its structure. It is impossible to obtain astaxanthin from the diet, apart from salmon and shellfish.

ASSAXANTHIN NEEDS TO BE EXTRACTED IN A SOLVANT FREE FACILITY - To be effective as a supplement, astaxanthin must be carefully extracted and converted to a form that is both soluble and stable. Using a solventless extraction process, the astaxanthin found in this product are extracted directly from microalgae to ensure optimal quality.
