Questions & Answers

In what ways does this product differ from the purilens plus saline, which is $15 more expensive?

This is something I purchase from Purilens directly. Buy 34 for 34 dollars at Amazon.com The total for your order is $42 plus $8 for shipping.

Could you recommend this product for use as just a rinse in the morning after using Clear Care for disinfection at night? I wear gas permeable lenses (I have keratoconus). ?

Kerataconus is a condition in which the cornea has hard scleral lenses. Combined with the Purilens plus ultrasonic cleaner, this cleaning solution makes it easy to clean hands without having them dirty. In this system, both the lens and the contact lenses are cleaned. The service is convenient, so that's a plus. After inserting the scleral lens in the eye in the morning, fresh drops of the purilens solution are placed in the lens. Normally, I get 2 weeks of use out of a In travel, I, however, make use of hydrogen peroxide cleaning for that purpose and so I don't need to carry a sonic cleaner. Although the ClearCare with hydraglide system burns my eyes, other hydrogen peroxide systems work just as well, and I fill my scleral lens with the neutralized H202 solution so my eyes are comfortable even after 18 hours. For you, this can be used as a rinse, and to fill scleral cups. Just keep in mind that the bottles only last about 15 days after opening, so you probably won't be able to use the whole bottle.

What uses the 12 pack system saline only, or a cleaning system as well. What is the best saline free of preservatives for me if I wear disposables daily?

Basically, it is just Saline. I use monthly disposables and store them in This is what I use to rinse and add a couple drops of this solution to my lenses before starting my eyes. I am very sensitive to light, so this is very comfortable for me. It's a direct replacement for the saline I had been using (Unisol 4)

This was a 30-day supply of Unisol. How long must you discard Purilens after or should you discard them ?

The 20 days are always the same for me

Unisol 4 will no longer be available, so this would be the perfect replacement
5/5

Unisol 4 will no longer be available, so this would be the perfect replacement. It also drips rather than squirts and doesn't leave bubbles in the lenses. PurLens is even better for filling scleral As for irritating my eyes, I have not experienced any discomfort. When it comes to filling and rinsing my scleral lenses, I use PuriLens. The cleaner dispensing action makes me use a lot more of it because I can rinse it off with ease. PuriLens has come to my attention recently and I'm delighted with it. Since using this saline solution for my scleral lenses, it has now become my preferred choice.

My body does not react right to any brand, no matter how well it fits
5/5

The past few months, I have tried wearing contacts but no matter what brand I tried or how good it fit, my eyes would become foggy, red, and irritated within a few hours of wearing them. In order to rule out any kind of allergy or reaction to solutions, my Dr suggested that I try nearly every product. It even caused some kind of reaction with my eyes when hydrogen peroxide, which is supposed to be preservative-free once neutralized. The systems may not have preservatives, but they still contain surfactants, which may be why I reacted to them. In a last ditch effort, I purchased the Purilens UV system using this saline. I wasn't expecting much change since my eyes weren't compatible with lenses, but I was really surprised to find that the lenses just dissolved into the eye. With this new pair of lenses, I can wear them all day (12+ hours) and have crisp and clear vision throughout. It has the added benefit that the UV system works in 15 minutes, so it is possible to take the lenses out for a break or take a shower as you please. There must be some reason why this isn't a more popular method since it's fast, it has no chemicals and appears to work I really like the packaging of the saline, and the bottle has an excellent opening that allows me to control the flow of the solution. It feels like nothing at all going into my eyes since it is just saline.

The product is good, but it's hard to find and it's expensive The fears of life are exaggerated
5/5

This product took me a lot of time to find. A no preservative saline in convenient sizes? A simple concept, but one that turns out to be extremely difficult to locate. Those are the things you are looking for, so you found them. It is a good decision for me. As well as using it in my eyes, I use it to clear my nasal passages as well. Both these areas should be free of preservatives. The shelf has a special place in my heart- It seems like the life here is a bit worrying because of all the concerns. It's salt water that hasn't been preserved. most definitely, salt water is conducive to a wide variety of growth, so it's no surprise that I am in awe of This is something you do not want to promote. There won't be anything to grow in here if you don't put something in it that can grow there. The fruit does not simply turn bad by itself. It is true that I have personally opened and reopened bottles of this particular product and have used them for much longer than 15 days, more like months, without any issues. I trust the unopened bottles just as much as the opened ones. We need to be kinder to our eyes and the things we put into Nevertheless, do realize that your eyes, like mine, are not sterile. They are constantly exposed to infections, water stains, and other substances that float in the air and hit the eyes. And yet somehow they survive.

This is the only resealable brand of buffered saline available make sure to check expiration dates
3/5

To use these lenses, I have the PROSE/Sclera brand. As far as I know, it is buffered, preservative-free saline. It has a bit of a price, but the price sometimes falls below the list price. I like that it is in a bottle that can stand up and It's not that I dislike the 4 oz bottle type since it means that you have to open a new one every 48 hours in order to fill lenses before inserting them. If you have leftovers, you can use them as rise for up to two weeks (this is not the same as soft lenses or hard contacts). It is unfortunate that I have too much to deal with. As an alternative, I have been switching to the unbuffered saline individual saline samples provided by my doctor's office. These cannot My skin feels better with buffered unless I am wearing it for less than half a day. In view of the availability of a 2 oz size, I ordered a few to be used approximately every third or fourth bottle to keep the pile of used "rinsing saline" bottles to a manageable size. As of right now, this is not available on sale, so it is extremely expensive until they run a sale.

So far, this has worked well and has not annoyed In addition to the size, I was disappointed that what I received expires the last week in December 2018, and I assumed that. It sounds like for the next few weeks at least orders are going to be Since there is a 48 hour replacement rule I must follow, I would be able to use it up within that time period, but others may not be able to do so. Be sure to check the expiration date when you receive the box.

Wearers of scleral lenses can take advantage of the best solution
5/5

Pulerins is one of the few preservative-free saline solutions on the market, and it is hard to find outside of an eye doctor's office. The bottles use much less waste than single-dose bottles. Make use of Throughout the years, I have found the formula to be more gentle on my eyes and more economical. For someone who wears scleral lenses, the solution is on the eyes up to 18 hours a day, so this is essential. Each bottle is sealed, with a lid puncturing the tip to make it easy to open. To prevent this from happening prematurely, a white ring should be put in after opening to prevent premature deterioration. Keep the ring on because if you leave it on, the lid will not be able to fully tighten, and the solution will leak. There are four things to remember. Although 7 oz is just a bit over the TSA's guidelines, I have taken sealed bottles with me on several trips without difficulty. We do, however, offer 2 Oz bottles for those who may be.

A great alternative to Purins is Purins Invest in Unisol 4, but do not waste your money
5/5

In the past, I used "Unisol 4 Preservative Free Saline Solution" and this is a great Although it may not be as cheap as that product was in drug stores, never mind paying for the last remaining bottles of that discontinued product. Purins Plus Solution (12 Pack) is a high quality product with a nozzle that controls the solution's dispensing.
