Glucerna Hunger Smart, Diabetes Nutritional Shake To Help Manage Blood Sugar, Creamy Strawberry, 10 Fl Oz, Pack of 24

As a business owner, I'm always short on time, so I've been on the liquid meal replacement bandwagon for a while. I used to drink Soylent, which is very satisfying but has too many calories, too much fat, and is a little too "thick. " In addition, my stomach did not appreciate consuming so much soy on a daily basis. So when Soylent raised their prices, which were already among the highest in the "meal replacement nutritional shake" category, I was inspired to try something new. br>br>I started with Ensure, which I liked a lot but has a lot of sugar in it (22 grams per 8 ounce bottle). So I tried Glucerna, Boost, and Walmart's generic "Equate" shakes over the course of a few weeks. I wanted to try Slimfast as well, but the regular one has a lot of sugar and the high protein one has a lot of protein but is very expensive, and I'm not trying to lose weight with these, so the stigma of "dieting" kept me away. However, I was interested in giving it a try. br>br>Flavor is important because you will not drink something you don't like. Except for Equate, they're all pretty similar in flavor and texture, and they're all pretty good. That one isn't just "okay," it's downright awful. This is a chalky substance. br>br>Apart from flavor, I was pretty sure I preferred Glucerna because the numbers on the back looked good, but I couldn't be sure until I created a spreadsheet to compare them all (photo attached). I kept track of nine different variables that I was interested in, and Glucerna scored best or above average in six of them, and average in the other three. It is slightly more expensive than all of the other options. There were a total of 26 of them, the majority of whom were in their late twenties. For each one, there is a 35% daily value. However, I made an exception for potassium because it varies greatly and is a critical nutrient. br>br>So, without a doubt, Glucerna is the best nutritional shake available. Whether you're diabetic or not, the low glycemic index helps you stay satisfied for longer with whatever you eat, so it'll be my drink of choice in the future. br>br>Boost is second, and I've seen it on sale for half the price of Glucerna, so I'll be buying that occasionally as well. However, having no fiber is a major drawback; Boost is the only one that has none (vs. 6g for Glucerna). But it's also a good option in other ways.

This is fantastic. Tastes like the chocolate I shouldn't be eating but do anyway, all the while telling myself I'll start eating better TOMORROW, that I'm not so far gone that I won't be able to change my ways LATER. br>If I had just a smidgeon more self-control and a few industrial-strength tools, tankers of a smaller size are less self-contained. You could eat this once or twice a day and still be healthy if you compensate for the caloric deficit with a balanced meal and snacks. Glucerna, please accept my heartfelt gratitude. At the very least, I can now tell myself, "Hey, I'm TRYING, okay?".

It did not spike my blood sugar, and it tasted pretty good when they were nice and cold, as far as I could tell. As part of my diabetic diet, I drank one with a meal (I eat about 20 carbs in a large meal and snack on the shake). It contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals, which was a major plus for me given my dietary restrictions. The amount of stomach upset that occurred about 3 hours later was incredible. I know it's not the food I ate because my meal plan is nearly identical. I'm having some of the worst menstrual cramps I've ever had, and despite drinking plenty of water throughout the day, I'm drinking bottle after bottle of water in the hopes that it will stop hurting. I feel like I'm suffering from a stomach flu that won't go away, as well as gas that made my husband's breathing shallow and his face covered. I'm not trying to scare you away from buying the product because it's unlikely to happen to you. There are many people who adore these shakes and find them to be extremely beneficial, while others find them to be ineffective. Unfortunately, I am one of the people who does not benefit from it. I paid nearly $40 for a 24-pack and now I don't know what to do with them. My best advice is to buy one, or even a six pack, and try one out to see how it works before spending as much as I did. To save money, get them on subscription and save. You definitely pay more for the name brand, and while it tastes good, it does have that eggy aftertaste that many protein shakes do. Although the chocolate flavor masks it better, I always have a problem with vanilla flavors. Do I think I'd buy these again or recommend them?
