I like the natural nutty flavor of soy, so I like how this unflavored powder tastes (I divide the serving and use it throughout the day in smoothies and yogurt-based meals). I believe the problems people are having are due to the 1/3 cup serving size being incorrect - The serving size is approximately 3 when measured by weight (24 g). 5 tbsp (level) I hope this information is useful to future buyers; however, it would be even better if the product label could be corrected as well! Overall, I'm pleased with the product and plan to purchase it again.
I'm still grateful to NOW for their dedication to allergy-friendly products. I've been on the lookout for a non-cross-contaminating protein powder. I'm allergic to casein, so it was contaminated with it. Because of their allergen-safe and sanitizing protocols, this one is risk-free. For a soy protein, it has a decent flavor. This soy isn't grassy at all, which is unusual for soy. I also like that this is just plain soy powder, which allows me to customize it with whatever I want. Frozen strawberries, almond milk, a few drops of monkfruit, and a packet of Splenda are usually on the menu for me. I'm very pleased with this purchase because it's close enough to a strawberry shake to be a great addition to a lunch or as a dessert. NOW gets it right, and I wish more businesses were as committed to allergen safety and transparency as they are with NOW.
If you've never tried unflavored, unsweetened soy protein powder, don't expect it to be your favorite. You'll need to find something flavored and/or sweetened, or combine it with some tasty, sweet fruit. br>br>I need something that is just pure soy isolate due to food sensitivities, and this fits the bill perfectly. There are no artificial flavors or sweeteners in it. And, having been unable to find something similar locally for quite some time, I'm glad it's now available here, at a very reasonable price. br>br>It's a little lumpy in terms of mixability. I just mix it with water to make "soy milk" for my cereal, and getting the lumps out is a bit of a challenge. To be honest, I just deal with the small lumps that I can't stir away with a spoon with a shaker glass or whisk, or if you're using this in the blender, you won't have any issues; if you're using this in the blender, you won't have any issues; if you're using this in the blender, you won't have any issues; if you're using this in the blender, you won br>br>If you've used soy isolate powder before and aren't expecting a tasty milkshake on its own, I highly recommend this product. The flavor, however, is not unpleasant. All you need is prior soy protein powder taste experience.
I'm hoping it's light on the stomach (which is the only reason I bought it), because it's not light on the wallet or the tastebuds. br>GROSS- porridge-like consistency Chalky. Something about it tastes like old sludgey rice. The package is quite small and does not include a scoop. It's about the same size as a small coffee can. Unless you have IBS like me and need to supplement your protein intake with something like this, I wouldn't recommend buying this brand.
This is revolting to the taste buds. I tried mixing it with fruit, fruit juice, meat, oatmeal, and anything else I could think of to make it taste better, but it still tasted like grassfed ass. br>br>I researched recipes and experimented with everything from dates to bananas. nothing. This does not appear to be fit for human consumption. It appears to have been designed with animals in mind.
Baking with Low Carb Ingredients I'm new to the low-carb concept, so I'm testing it out. This is what I used to make my low-carb pancakes. It had a wonderful flavor. Because I'm not trying to hide anything, I believe I should use less cinnamon. The batter was thick enough to make pancakes of my preferred consistency. not like crepes that are flat. I'd show you a photo, but I ate them all. This is something I intend to purchase again.
I tried combining it with almond milk, frozen blueberries, and erithryol in a protein shake. It tasted awful, with a strong soy flavor. It's a good match. It was alright when mixed into oatmeal with a banana and a generous amount of almond butter. I mean, I suppose that's just soy's naturally revolting flavor.
I purchased it to supplement a soy milk protein shake with additional protein. When I stir it with a spoon, it doesn't blend nearly as well as my whey protein. I suppose I should use a shaker, but I'm more likely to look for one that blends better first. If you use a shaker, it might be okay for you. On the whole, it appears to be a high-quality product.
