They're about the same size as ground beef granules. I used them to coat fish and chicken before "frying" them in the oven. I can't eat breadcrumbs, so these were a great substitute, but they're a little bigger.
Yes. It has a slight soy flavor to it, but more importantly, it has a chunky, dry texture to it. It's something I've been using for years to "beef up" sauces and casseroles. I use it to make sloppy joe. For a smoothie, I would skip the textured protein. It would be similar to adding granola (texture-wise) to the mix, in my opinion. wise). However, it softens when exposed to liquid and can be blended. To make smoothies, I'd use a powder.

It adds depth of flavor without being overpowering, thickens soups, and is delicious when toasted on top of other dishes such as casseroles and nachos. Adding protein to a vegetarian diet has never been so simple!.
This soy is a personal favorite of mine. Because I am a vegan, this is a source of protein for me. br>I make a delicious tomato soup with soy and onions that my family loves. I'm going to use the rest of it to make a variety of dishes.
Great texture and flavor, and it stands up to a variety of cooking temperatures, seasonings, and sauces. Reheats well; It will easily fool the carnivore at your table because it takes on the flavor you specify and has a texture that is very similar to ground meat.
I prefer TSP to TVP because the former does not seem to cause me the same stomach upset that the latter does. They're both used in the same way by me.
