I've had the smaller bags for at least two years and have never had any issues with them. In the refrigerator, I keep the open bag. Bob's Red Mill may be able to provide you with additional information.

Good product; however, I wish they had a bag in a middle size

This is something I use on a daily basis. I keep a container in the fridge with soy milk, vanilla, and a banana blended together. It's now in a large sack that I buy. However, I wish the sack was smaller!.

It is more cost effective to purchase the larger bag

However, removing the protein powder from the large bag is difficult. It's what I use for my protein shakes. It doesn't have the same flavor profile as my previous protein powder.
