When I'd had enough, I decided to look into it further and discovered wet shaving. I was sold after doing a lot of research on it. This kit caught my eye and I thought it would be a good place to start. Because the reviews were positivebr>2. It contained everything I required to get startedbr>3. I assumed it was a sign because my name is John! Lolbr>br>Packaging was excellent; everything was individually boxed and neatly stored in the travel case. I couldn't wait to put it to the test. It has a steep learning curve, so watch a few videos before getting started, as I did. Alternatively, you risk cutting yourself or not getting a good shave. br>br>The soap smelled great and lathered up quickly. It was a good fit in the bowl. The bowl is a little small, which makes lathering a little difficult, but it's a great starter. In the future, I'll probably get a bigger bowl, but for now, it'll suffice. The razor is a fantastic product in and of itself. It appears to be well-made and durable. It's a good size for me. Because it has a shorter handle, it might be difficult to hold if you have large hands. It has a good-sized head that is well-balanced. It worked wonderfully for shaving. I had the best smoothie shave of my life. Even my wife exclaimed, "Wow!" It's as if you're standing on the bottom of a baby. Because it's my first shave, I'll let you know how it goes with my ingrown hairs in a week or two. It worked well with the blades that came with it. I'm going to try a few different kinds just to see what's out there, but I'm happy with what I got. Astra superior platinum was included in the package. br>The aftershave block that came with it was different from what I'm used to because I'm used to balms, but it's worked great so far and I haven't had any irritation! br>It appears that the bag is well constructed. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's just an open bag with no pockets for soap, bowl, or razor. The stand is sturdy and has a pad on the bottom to keep it from moving around, which is just a personal preference of mine. br>I would highly recommend this shave kit, and if I could, I would give it ten stars!.

Let's begin with the most expensive item on the list: the razor. It's a decent razor. It's not opulent, it's not inexpensive, and it's not thrilling. It's a fantastic razor for newbies. The only disadvantage is that soap gets stuck in the razor's comb and is extremely difficult to remove without completely disassembling the razor. It's not difficult, but it's a pain in the neck. The brush will come next. This is without a doubt one of the worst shave brushes I've ever purchased. The bristles are constantly falling out of the bulb, and they are difficult to load. It appears to be a synthetic material that is less expensive. To replace it, get a badger or boar hair brush. Many people don't use an aluminum block, so it's a nice touch. It's great for weepers and cuts. The travel bag is also very nice, and it comes in handy when I need to travel. The stand is also quite nice, comparable to some of the higher-end models. It comes with Astra blades, which are always of high quality. The soap has to be the most disappointing part of the package. Soap takes FOREVER to lather up into a usable cream, and it has no scent. When I finally load a sufficient amount of soap, it dries quickly and leaves a film on my face. Overall, this is a good beginner kit, but there are better options available, particularly for the price.

Wet shaving has been a part of my life since I was about 13 years old. I learned to shave with a straight razor from my grandfather (I believe he was retaliating for something I had done), and though I've tried cartridges, electrics, and wet shaving, I always return to wet shaving. br>br>Recently, I went through a massive clean out of a dozen or more razors, countless soaps, blades, and other shaving products, to the point where I had no wet shaving products left in the house. I went through my usual routine of trying out all of the new cartridges that were available and. . . well. I decided to go back to wet shaving now that every company has been woken up. Let's get into the specifics of this kit now that that's out of the way. br>The stand is a nice, quality stand. br>The dopp bag is a nice canvas material and surprisingly roomy (until all the boxes are removed, it appears to be extremely crowded). )br>Because the razor isn't particularly aggressive, it's ideal for beginners. In terms of aggressiveness, I'd compare it to the Merkur 34C. The handle has a good weight to it, but I wish it was a little shorter (longer handles make getting into tighter spots a little more difficult). ) It comes in a three-piece design that is simple to clean. It's not a cheap razor, so it'll last. br>The soap — It's sandalwood, and the scent isn't overpowering; it lathers well and can be used for bowl or face lathering. br>The blades — They're not my favorite brand, but each one will last you 4 to 5 shaves. Simply rotate them after each shave (check the blade's orientation and flip it when disassembling the razor). )br>Let's move on to the kit's weak point: The bristle. Because it's made of boar hair, it'll be a little rough at first. This one, on the other hand, appears to be mostly the lower parts of the mane, making it scratchy and irritating to the face. If you face lather, this will soften up over time. It's far from perfect. It's not only rough, but it also sheds a lot. It's normal for shave brushes to shed hair after a few days, but this one is losing a lot of hair. It has a few advantages, one of which is that it has little to no animal odor. If you enjoy wet shaving, I recommend that you replace this brush with a better one. The Semogue Excelsior 830 is a great replacement that is also reasonably priced. br>Overall, it's a good kit that isn't overpriced like some others.

I'll never use Gillette 5 Blades again after my first wet shave. In comparison to using five blades, this is not only simple to use, but it also makes my face feel much smoother and better. This razor takes a little longer to use (maybe a minute or two), but it leaves me with almost no razor burn. With my old blades, I was used to cutting myself at least a few times, but this time I only cut myself once, and it was on the first swipe of the blade. These blades are not only cheaper, but they're also easier to replace and sharper. Everything I needed was included in the package. The alum block was particularly appealing to me. It immediately stopped the bleeding from my single nick! I'll never shave the way I used to.
