A badger hair shaving brush is recommended for the best shave. You could theoretically squirt some shaving cream from the tub and lather it on your face, but it will be extremely thick and difficult to shave through (not to mention a waste of shaving cream). Instead, squirt a small amount (about a tablespoon) into a cup and work it into a nice lather with a brush. So, while a brush isn't required, I would strongly advise you to use one. A badger hair brush is also recommended because badger hair absorbs more water than human hair, making shaving cream application easier and smoother.
I've tried it, but the ingredient doesn't appear to contain aluminum. The kit is packaged in a tin box made of aluminum.

Very good product! My order came with some of the aftershave spilled out, just like others have said. The aftershave container was completely full. Because Proraso does not use seals, this is the case. To be honest, this is terrifying because someone could contaminate the products with something harmful. Who knows if they'd find out before it's too late? Please begin to use safety and tamper seals. Very nice. however, it has a chilling effect This is a fantastic pre-shave ointment. It lathers up nicely, but it takes a lot of water to keep the face from drying out too quickly. It's great that it's a balm-style aftershave; it's a great product!.

It's not something I'd go out of my way to buy. br>br>The shaving cream itself goes on quickly and dries out, making it difficult to achieve a close shave. I have to wet my face before applying the cream, but if I do so too much, the cream thins out too much, making the shave uncomfortable. Finally, the aftershave; I like the scent, but I don't think it helps to soothe my face in the long run. I use this after shaving and then a different product after it dries in a few minutes, the second product being the one that actually makes my face feel good. br>br>Overall, this is a good set, but because I'm just getting started, I'll be experimenting with other products before making my next purchase.

Yay! Finally! I would have done this YEARS ago if I had known my husband would shave more than once a month with the Proraso Vintage Gino Tin Gift Set shaving products. He claims that you only need a small amount of shaving cream to get a good shave, and that the pre-shave oil is more effective. The shave cream is excellent, and he particularly enjoys the after-shave balm. The Proraso is more expensive than the regular shaving products I've been buying, but it's SO worth it because his skin feels great and the product smells amazing. A little pampering didn't go amiss! I had planned on purchasing the individual items separately, so this tin set was definitely worth it. So it was nice to save a few bucks on the bundle. The tin is nice, but it's not really a "collectable" unless you plan on using it to decorate a shave den or man cave, or to store sewing supplies or small miscellaneous items. All of the Proraso products are excellent, and the scents are wonderful. The pre- The scent of the shave and shave cream is a little "in your face," but it's still very refreshing and invigorating. I'll keep these items in my shaving cabinet on a permanent basis.
