I'm blown away by the locking system it has to keep single blades in place, and it's also well balanced! The only thing that bothers me is how thick the handle is, but it is treated wood, so it holds up well in the sanitation fluid we are required to use, used blades are difficult to remove because they are a tight fit in between the prongs, I haven't had it long enough to see how the black finish holds up, and the razor as a whole is a little stiff, but that might be a good thing because it appears to be well built. I'm glad I went with this instead of something less expensive.

For the first time in 49 years, I've grown a full beard. I needed a straight razor to clean up my cheek and neck lines, so I purchased this and am very pleased with it. The blades were initially a mystery to me. I was concerned that they wouldn't fit, but they do when you snap them in half. So, after snapping in half, each blade in the package becomes two. My first attempt at shaving wasn't great, but after watching youtube videos, I learned to keep the razor at a 30 degree angle and go with the grain of the hair. I was instantly smitten by the razor after that. It's a cool piece with beautiful wood. Also excellent is the leather sheath. Straight razors come in a wide variety of styles. This one will make you very happy!.

I'm not criticizing my straight razor; rather, it's my inability to consistently honing a razor-sharp edge; the fault, not the razor, is mine. I looked at a few of these barber replaceable razors before deciding on the "urwunder. " It is more expensive than the others, but I like that the blade is held in place by four pins, ensuring that it will never fall out. Other razors rely on two pins to align the blade and the locking latch's grip to keep it in place. It was a simple adjustment for me to use the "urwunder" after years of using a straight razor. It's not as heavy as a straight razor, and it doesn't have a "hunk of steel" blade. The single edge is razor-sharp! You're not just shaving hair with this razor; you're also exfoliating some skin, just like with any other razor. This is especially true in the case of this razor - Because this is a very close shave, make sure you have some skin lotion on hand afterward, as the newly exposed skin will be a little sensitive.

I was also wary because the only time I ever let someone use one on me was at the barbershop, where I was repeatedly cut. However, I needed something to better detail my beard. br>br>I'm sure there are better razors out there, but for the price, I'm pretty happy with this product; it's easy to hold and works well to detail my beard on my cheeks, but it's very uncomfortable on my neck (probably my fault or just like any straight razor for me). The wooden handle has held up well so far, but I would replace it with a plastic or metal handle in the future to feel more confident in cleaning it. The case is a very tight fit, and when you fold the razor, it gets slightly pushed out of the 'clamps' that hold it in place because the razor goes into the handle, but the clamps are too thick to fit in. Cut hairs also easily get caught between the razor clamps, which is a pain.

I'd never used a straight razor before and decided to give it a shot. The fact that this design makes use of a broken-down grid drew me in. Sharpening is not required because the blade is half the size of a standard blade. I expected a "learning curve," but I wasn't expecting the cuts and bleeding to last as long as they did. My age is most likely the issue now. I'm ninety years old and probably lack the necessary dexterity and hand steadiness; it's also interesting that most of the pictures depicting its use show a third party (usually a young woman) doing the actual shaving while the recipient simply sits there. But I'm not sure I'd want to try it. But, in any case, I'm afraid I'll have to stick with a "Safety Razor," though I do like your idea of the broken blade.

This razor had a lot of potential for me. I bought it because it has four pins, which I thought would ensure a perfect fit and secure grip on the blade. I was mistaken; the pins are positioned incorrectly, allowing the blade to move around and cut your face. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am a seasoned shaver. This razor has left me very disappointed. This razor would be fantastic if the engineers could just get the four pins in the right place. Everything else, on the other hand, I adored. Handel's wood, Steele's stainless steel, and the way it feels. I'd order it again if they fixed these issues!.

I really like the razor's weight and balance. Holding it is a pleasure. The stainless steel blade holder and handle are my favorites. I used to shave with a straight razor, but the blade shattered after I dropped it on a tile floor. I decided to try one of these. I'm glad I took action! The leather case is also a nice addition that will come in handy when I travel. Overall, this razor has exceeded my expectations.

I've never used a better blade handle. Ideally proportioned and perfectly balanced. The ergonomics are fantastic! Using the blade requires very little thought and effort because the blade handle almost feels like an extension of your fingers. br>Whether you're shaving the right or left side of your face, the amount of blade exposure and handle weight are ideal. Whoever designed the shank that holds the blade understands that a shorter length is better because it allows your fingers to find the perfect fulcrum, which is not too far from the cutting edge, so you can apply just enough pressure to avoid nicks and cuts. br>Truly impressive.
