Yes. It can be used by people of all sizes.
Yes. I don't put the Mouthguard strip in my mouth until I'm ready to fall asleep. However, there's no reason why you can't put it on sooner if you want to.
To begin with, swallowing the gel would be difficult because the strip must be applied directly to your teeth and then quickly washed off. In any case, I don't believe it would be harmful if you swallowed it.
These aren't whitening strips, but mouth guards. They're designed to keep your teeth from clenching and grinding while you're sleeping. It's a fantastic product in this regard.

In the middle of the night, I grind my teeth like it's no one's business. I bought a lot of Dentek mouthguards over the years and they were great - But then I noticed that I could get sets that included more than one mouthguard for a much better price. br>br>I began with a different brand, which had three thin and two thick mouthguards. From personal experience, I appreciate the fact that the set contains only 3 mm mouthguards, rather than the larger, thicker 6 mm mouthguards. I couldn't even close my lips while sleeping because they were so thick! br>br>With these thin mouthguards, as the instructions state, you must wait for several seconds after the water has stopped boiling before dropping the mouthguard in. If you don't wait and put it in while it's boiling, it'll all melt together and be useless. So, after it has ceased to boil, wait a few seconds before dropping it in. Also, in my experience, it does not take the full 18 seconds that the instructions suggest - It's closer to a minute and a half. There's no going back if you leave it in there for too long - As a result, it's better to be safe than sorry! Last but not least, it says to bite down - However, for me, pressing the mouth guard into my top teeth with the suction of my mouth, my tongue, and my fingers works. My lower teeth create an indentation in the bottom part of the mouthguard when I bite down, and it forces my teeth into that exact position every night. My jaw does not get locked into place like that if I keep the bottom part fairly smooth.
After reading the positive reviews for this product, I decided to give it a shot. It worked; he didn't have the headache that had been bothering him when he awoke this morning. br>It's very simple to use if you just follow the steps. So far, I'm pleased with the results; if anything changes, I'll be sure to post an update here.
I didn't trim the first one I moulded and it was way too big for my mouth, so I trimmed it down and shaped it to my teeth. The second one seemed to be a good fit. If you want it to fit properly, you must close your mouth and flatten it against your teeth. It stayed put and did its job when I used it at night. It's not very tight on the teeth, so I don't think it'd be good for whitening. I'm not sure; I don't whiten my teeth in that manner very often, and when I do, it's for a specific reason. Anyway, these appear to do the job they're supposed to do, and my box came with six of them.
I bought this to supplement my custom-molded night guard for TMJ because I can't sleep without it. I planned to keep this one in my travel bag “just in case,” and figured that if it worked at least as well as the $800 guard I normally wear it br>br>All right, let's see what we've got. This one, it turns out, is my favorite! I believe it's because I have the ability to select my preferred jaw position. I also like that it's soft rather than hard, as my regular one is, because my problem is clenching, and the softness encourages me to relax rather than bear down. br>br>I'll admit that the entire molding process took some time to figure out. The instructions are very detailed, and if you read them carefully, you will be well prepared. One thing they don't tell you is not to let the guard touch the hot pan's side when you're lifting it out. This may seem self-evident, but your first instinct will be to strain the excess water from the spoon by tipping it against the pan's edge. DON'T EVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN! My initial attempt resulted in a twisted, melted mess. Simply squirt all of the extra hot water onto the damp paper towel. That's why it's there in the first place. br>br>I was satisfied with my second attempt and had lived my third attempt, so I stopped there. Did I say you get SIX chances to get it right? Of course, you can always make a new one when your old one wears out, which should only take about 3 months. 5 months. As a result, you have a score of one. Two years worth of supplies! br>br>Best of luck, and if you have TMJ, I hope this helps you as much as it has me!.
The instructions for molding it around your teeth are a farce. It's precise enough to say to put it in just-boiled water for 18 seconds, but it's vague enough to say to bite down hard but not too hard or it'll ruin it. Mine stuck to the side of the boiling pan and was already misshapen by the time I could scoop it out with the wooden spoon I'd soaked in ice water so it wouldn't stick (really, it says to). It'll probably take the entire box to find one that works, and even then, it felt like a big piece of cheap plastic floating around my mouth, rather than a real mouth guard.
It was a nice bonus to get six cards in the box instead of four. I made a mistake with the first one, but it was my fault; the instructions are actually quite good, but you must carefully follow them. The second one fit perfectly around my upper teeth for nighttime wear. I ground away some enamel in one section and am now experiencing severe sensitivity, so this is a big help in preventing further damage. It's surprisingly more comfortable than the one my dentist had made for me in a lab after taking a mold of my teeth in the office; his felt like it was squeezing my teeth to death and was made of a cheap, thin, and sharp plastic, whereas this one is nice and soft.
It's painful for me to grind and rub my bottom and top teeth against each other. Everything worked out once I molded these, and rubbing my teeth into the guard is a much more pleasant experience.
