Selected User Reviews For JS Dental Lab Mouth Guard for Teeth Grinding & Clenching, Dental Night Guard for Bruxism & TMJ Relief - Upper Bite Guard
Guards with a lot of bulk bother me. It's so light and strong that I can even speak in it - It's absolutely insane. br>br>The first two nights I used it, the guard felt a little tight. Is that all there is to it? However, plastic has a large range of expansion and contraction. So it'll be perfect in two nights' time. br>br>I've never paid for a hard night guard from a dentist in my area, which costs around $700. So, aside from $30 drugstore guards, I have nothing to compare them to. br>br>I was discovered to be a grinder 1. I've been through three drug store guards in the last five years. Even though it would have been more expensive, I was considering a $700 guard from my dentist for the convenience of not having to get/make a new guard every 6 months; I was also hoping that my grinding was temporary due to stress and wanted to make sure before considering more expensive options. It isn't - hehehehehehehehehehehehehe I'm just a grinder now, even if I wasn't before, and I'm okay with it. br>br>I'm so glad I came across this guard and decided to give it a try before going to the dentist; it's probably the same type of guard for a sixth of the price. I've been using it for a week and know it will last much longer than the equivalent number of drug store guards for the same price, while also saving me time. br>br>Amazon was quick to send me their kit, which is good because I've heard Amazon can be slow at times. If you don't get your kit right away - was one of the phrases I used. That's almost certainly Amazon's fault (unless you chose seller fulfillment, which most people don't). br>br>As soon as you receive the kit, you will realize that this is a fantastic company. br>In your kit, you'll find detailed instructions as well as everything you'll need. If you have a question, they are very helpful. ADVICE - br>br> TAKE THE MOLDING PROCESS VERY SERIOUSLY AND PLANN EVERY MOVEMENT. You have about 45 seconds to mold the putty, in my opinion. This is no joke; work quickly and furiously because the putty will harden quickly from the time it leaves your hands to the time it is placed in the guard. br>br>I didn't expect the putty to harden so quickly despite the warning, and my putty hardened faster than it appeared/felt when manipulating it in my hands. The instructions stated that I should push all the way down to my gums, and there was plenty of putty to do so. Unfortunately, before the putty hardened, I could only get my back gums and about 2/3 of the way up my front teeth. br>br>I emailed the company with my mold pictures, and they responded within an hour, saying they were fine. AWESOME! In less than a week after sending my mold, I received my guard. br>br>HUGE ADDITIONAL FEATURE- br>THEY SENT MY TEETH TO ME! My teeth, on the other hand, have taken on a personality of their own. I wasn't expecting to hear from you. It's absolutely incredible. It's the first time I've ever seen my teeth like this, and it's absolutely fascinating. If I'm murdered now, I told my boyfriend, they won't even need to go to my dentist for my dental records to find me!.
My dentist suspected I was a grinder and estimated an out-of-pocket cost of $800 for a night guard that wouldn't be covered by my dental insurance. I was devastated because this was out of my price range, but I was desperate to stop grinding, so I tried the "microwavable" night guards available at Target or Walgreens. This night guard was extremely bulky and inconvenient to wear. I made the decision to give J a shot. I found M night guard on Amazon and I'm so glad I did! br>br>I decided to go with the lightest option, and I'm glad I did; It's clear, soft, and a little thicker than a clear retainer or invisilign. It's also extremely comfortable. I thought wearing a night guard would be a pain, but I actually enjoy sleeping with it because it is soft and makes my jaw feel less sore. br>br>The lightest version is designed for "light grinding / day wear," according to the manufacturer. I'd describe myself as an average grinder, but I'm glad I went with the lightest option. I really like how gentle it is. It also shows no signs of wear despite the fact that I've had it for a few months. Rather than the harder options, I prefer the soft comfort of this night guard. I bought it in August of 2018 and will update if I notice any signs of wear.
My first one was made of hard plastic and lasted for years until I dropped it about a year ago. I decided to try the do-it-yourself route rather than paying a dentist an exorbitant fee to replace it. Variety is good for you. I tried a few different brands, but none of them satisfied me: Too much material on the roof of my mouth and up the sides of my gums necessitated the use of scissors, which I always did a poor job of, leaving sharp edges and snaggy bits that nail files couldn't smooth out. Besides, I was used to having a rigid, inflexible guard in my mouth, and these just didn't cut it. They irritated my lips and interfered with both my lips and tongue to the point where my husband complained that he couldn't understand me in the middle of the night when I had it in my mouth, which had never been an issue before. As a result, I went on the hunt for a new brand to try and came across J. The process of taking an impression of my teeth with S Dental Lab was much easier than using any of the DIY brands to make a night guard. And I got my replacement one week after sending them my impression. I ordered the hard style, which looks exactly like the one I've been wearing for nearly 30 years. I had no idea how much I missed having the right kind and how much better it is for me until I had it. If you have TMJ symptoms, see a qualified dentist; my first bite plate took three months of visits and adjustments to get just right, but it relieved my migraines and jaw pain, straightened my bite, and was well worth the money. Aside from that, I strongly advise J. S Dental Lab is a company that specializes in dentistry. I'm overjoyed with my new guard; I'm not sure if it'll last as long as my old one did, but it's so much better than the DIY versions that I'd give it ten stars if I could.
My molars were a little squeezed when I used the middle size, but after exchanging e-mails, they were fine. J has been sending me emails about it. S, I sent in my impression, and they made a hard guard for me because I chew with my teeth clenched. I put it in within ten days of receiving it. It was a little snug around my two back molars, but I decided to give it a night to see how it went. It was extremely effective, and I experienced no discomfort or pressure on my molars. I'm 62 years old, and I'm well aware that our teeth do move. I keep the guard as-is after wearing it for two nights. It's smooth, very hard, and it's designed so that my lower incisors don't even brush against the top of the guard, which is a huge improvement over my previous guard. J& S was willing to rework the guard if I needed it, but I'm pleased with the result and would order from them again. My most recent J S guard withstood HARD WEAR for two years.
