For nearly fifty years, I've worn a night guard. My dentist made it for my lower teeth, so there was no question at first. Then he sent me to an Orthodontist to have them made because I was biting holes in them so quickly! The Ortho made it for my top teeth for a while, but then decided to try making one for my lower teeth as well. It was amazing how much of a difference it made! My guards were no longer biting holes in them! When my current guard wears out, I simply replace it. I suppose it varies from patient to patient. In the last few years, I've read that dentists have been using bottom guards a lot more. The bottom was by far the most comfortable for me. I'm sorry, but I'm not able to provide more specific information.
In fact, there is a lot of disagreement about whether lower or upper is better. You'll see why if you look it up on Google. I used top guards for about twenty years before switching to bottom guards, which I've been wearing for nearly thirty years. There was no additional salivation as a result of it. Do you wake up with a stuffy nose at night because of allergies or because you're stuffed up? My mouth gets very dry when I don't use a prescription nose spray because I have allergies. You should talk to your doctor and dentist about it, and I wouldn't buy a bite guard because you have a dry mouth at night.
I had the same problem and ordered the bottom one so that I wouldn't have to worry about it falling down while I was sleeping. My dentist charged around $400 for it, and it was shoddy workmanship, too thick, and uncomfortable. I couldn't take it any longer, so I made my own using JS dental for less than half the cost, and it was so much more comfortable, lightweight, and of higher quality.

Because of the high cost and the fact that I never really liked it in the first place, I wasn't looking forward to getting another one. It was a little too big, triggered my gag reflex on occasion, and woke me up at night if my bottom teeth collided with it. I was hesitant to purchase a dental product from Amazon, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews, as well as the significantly lower price, persuaded me to do so. This time, I went with a lower mouth guard made of a softer material. The impression process was simple to understand and execute, the ordering process was straightforward, and I am delighted with the final product - It is far more comfortable to wear; it does not even come close to triggering my gag reflex; it feels like it fits my mouth better; and it does not keep me awake at night. I also believe it is helping to reduce the number of teeth I have. grinding. br>br>I've worn it almost every night since receiving it in April, which I couldn't say for my previous, expensive dentist-made mouth guard. I have no complaints about this purchase - This is the best money I've ever spent! However, if I come across anything negative in the future, I will update the review.
As a long-time resident of the United States, RDH, I can tell you that this is a fantastic product as well as a solution to the financial burden of dental custom-made appliances. mouthguards were created Because I am self-employed, I am no longer eligible for practice discounts. My previous mouth guard was $500 and had recently been misplaced while traveling. I purchased an OTC gaurd (Oral-Treatment-Compound) B, which, if you've never worn a gaurd before, is the most cost-effective way to see if it's right for you. Guards are only covered by a minority of insurance companies. ), which was fine but not exactly what I was looking for. br>When I first discovered J, I was blown away. I bought a hard/soft durable gaurd with the intention of making few if any adjustments, and it fits perfectly. I requested a lower gaurd with some custom alterations, which were flawlessly executed. br>Since then, I've been referring patients to this service. br>While I had no need for their customer service, I was given a name and phone number to call if I had any questions about the instructions or had any other concerns, as well as J. To begin with, I purchased this product six months ago because I've had terrible TMJ for a long time and was afraid of cracking my teeth. For a long time, I was overwhelmed by the instructions. It was only last week that I did it. So, the instructions are simple to follow, the putty is simple to mix, and the four minutes fly by (just make sure you lean your head back the entire time, because the drool is a pain). (extraterrestrial). Don't let your fears get the best of you! Do it! br>br>As for the timeline of creation, I mailed my package on a Friday morning and received my guard the following Thursday. That's right, less than a week from start to finish, including shipping time! (To be fair, your mileage may vary-- I discovered that I was only about an hour away from their office. ) However, aside from the mailing time, the actual creation time was extremely short. It also looks great! br>br> They also included my original mold as well as a plaster cast of my teeth in case I need a replacement in the future if this one breaks or wears out. As a test, I took a nap with it earlier today, and my jaw is already feeling much better. To begin, I'll do it at night to see how much better I get, but if I end up needing to wear it during the day as well, I'm not ashamed. Pain- Getting something for nothing is always preferable to getting something for something. br>br>Communication: br>br> do this. Especially if you don't have dental insurance, or if you're too lazy, or if you prefer to do things yourself. It will be well worth your time and effort.
Over the course of six years, I worked as a chairside dental assistant. I had high hopes for a lab, and I was sorely disappointed. The fact that this lab does not require you to take an impression of the opposing arch or a bite registration was the first thing that bothered me. The occlusion would have been more accurate as a result of this. They're working with an unlabeled VPS putty that I found for a reasonable price. When I received my occlusal guard in the mail, it was dry and packaged separately from the case in an unsealed bag. What a dreadful lab delivery, unlike any I've ever witnessed! The fit was poor, and the brace did not "snap" onto my teeth as it should have. When fully seated on the right, the left side protrudes, and the bite is excessively large. Even with their thickest material, the acrylic is too thin and will break if the occlusion is changed. At the very least, as a consolation prize for my wasted time and money, they sent me a denture brush in a crushed box!.
J receives yet another raving review and high praise. S Dental Laboratories! My dentist was equally impressed by the fit/quality, price, and customer service, and will recommend it to other patients who don't want to pay upwards of $500 for a guard made by his lab (likely one similar to J's). Tom in customer service is AMAZING; taking the impression was a breeze and took no more than 10 minutes (if that) from start to finish, and I received my new lower mouth guard 7 days later! br>br>UPDATE: br>br> For the past two weeks, I've been sleeping with it in my mouth, and I've completely forgotten about it. It's the perfect fit, couldn't be more comfortable, and it gets the job done! This entire experience has exceeded my expectations!.
