5 base of my metacarpals) and was looking for a product that would help strengthen and restore normal movement to my hand and fingers. These are about 1/3 the size of a baseball and fit perfectly in your palm. I also like how it came with a carrying bag and some exercises to do with it! You can tell the difference in resistance between all of the colors; I just wish they made one that was a little softer than yellow to start with after a broken hand injury, but overall, this is a fantastic product that I would highly recommend!.
My daughter's occupational therapist wanted her to "do something" to help her with her hands, and since she's older and more compliant, she was told she could choose anything that would allow her to knead the material. br>br>Theraphobia gives me nightmares. putty, but you should be aware that it's a fantastic resource. These balls are a great alternative that have aided her with her hands in recent months. There's also no danger of them rubbing into fabrics, carpets, or other surfaces.
If you're an adult male who needs hand exercise for carpal tunnel, this product isn't for you; it's designed for women and children, not men.
I plan to use these when my hand surgeon lets me go back to work next week.
These are fantastic for strengthening your hand and for post-carpal tunnel syndrome rehabilitation!.
Very good product, great for doing exercises.
I am an occupational therapist who works in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a skilled nursing facility and an independent living facility. This was originally purchased for use with my patients who have weak muscles and poor fine motor control. Since my husband was involved in a boating accident and injured his dominant hand, I decided to keep these at home so that he can use them to rehab himself once he is able. He is currently losing strength in his non-dominant hand. I've encouraged him to practice with these on a daily basis in order to strengthen his dominant hand. There are four balls, each of which is a different color (blue, red, green, or yellow). The level of "firmness" varies by color. " The balls are comfortable to hold and have a rubberized texture that, unfortunately, attracts lint and hair. I would have preferred it if the different levels of "firmness" were associated with a set level of resistance so you could determine how many lbs you are actually "gripping/grasping. " It comes with a drawstring bag for storage and an exercise guide. "Aside from that, I think these are good for hand exercises and other stuff.
