The test was a complete failure. Please be careful if you are a US buyer. The product I purchased became unreliable after a few months of use. I had to look for another product. Due to the fact that this model is not sold in the US, and when I contacted Braun's customer service arm, they pointed me to the European website, I suggest US buyers beware. The help was very helpful (said with the sarcasm of an idiot). The reason for this loss of reliability can be found throughout the reviews for Braun thermometers but is unique to this particular model. Whenever you try to use this, the thermometer keeps giving you an error "POS", which means it is not positioned correctly or it is not I am here to tell you, it isn't rocket science for a Graphic Designer. My darn thermometer not only keeps still for 3 seconds, but I also know where to position it. The advice from Braun was just stupid. of Braun's size and level of international influence, offering such poor customer service for its consumer products is totally unacceptable. They did not only fail to provide service for my product, they also took more than two days to notify me of the problem. I am glad. Overall, the advice is to look somewhere else. BRÜN IS NOT A GOOD BUY. On the basis of internet reviews, I'm going to try another ear thermometer and report back here once my results are in. To be on the safe side, I'll have a standard thermometer on hand as well. Braun, I appreciate your help once more. You get absolutely nothing for free.
It's ok. Rectal thermometers have given me a bad taste (yes, My hand is getting tired from my joke) so I decided to get a new one. I was just having a hard time getting a consistent reading from our old oral thermometer (and the silver line is difficult to read. Anyhow, I still have my school thermometer). Braun products have always been good for me and I was pleased with the price of this one instead of the new $100 models I saw 120 units in retail and the reviews were more consistent, so I decided to go with it. It doesn't make sense for me to play with Bluetooth and apps while I'm sick or caring for someone who is. It is important that I get the temperature as quickly and accurately as possible. I just got my unit and it was up and running within three hours The box should be opened within 4 minutes. The temperature of my body was 98 after I took it five times in a row. It's accurate and works well. We bought it to replace an old model that wasn't up to the job. It helps to have the backlit model as well as the backlights. The only thing is I wish there was a way to disable the damn age selection. Whenever that idea came up, whoever thought it up, it was really stupid. Even if I can afford a $65 thermometer, it's almost certain that I will be able to take and read the temperature just fine. Asking me every damn time to highlight this dumb feature just builds up the ego of whoever thought it was a good idea.

I have found it to be accurate enough for checking sick patients and it works as it should. A reviewer mentioned that you have to set the age of the person being tested every time you use it and that is true, but not really difficult, so you can set it to test a child, an adult, or a baby as the temperature number is the same regardless of the age set. Since this setting is provided only for the built-in alert for each age group since, yes, 'normal' temperatures differ for the three age groups but the temperature output does not change on the screen, so if all you want to know is the temperature number, then any setting will be sufficient.
