Review writing is an uncommon thing for me. I have to LOVE, or be extremely dissatisfied with, a product in order to take the time. Sadly, this is the latter case. This product is remarkable in so many ways The case is easy to use, has a nice design, and is innovative. In that it cannot take accurate temperature readings, it fails at its most important function! It is hard to keep track of the readings. Since I haven't been sick since we bought them, I have no way to test how accurate they are. The problem is I'm running a fever because I've got a small cold. As soon as I received the directions, I followed them carefully It showed 103 on the first reading. The disposable cap is set to adult. The test is done on the exact same ear every time. My second reading was 98 and although that is concerning, it seems high for a feeling like I have. I tried with a clean cap, set to adult, same ear, and I obtained the same result. This is so great. There are three boys under six years of age in my house. It is hard on the entire family when a person has a fever. Having an EXACT idea of what the temperature is is crucial. It is wonderful that there is a light on the screen so when you take a temperature at night or in low light, you will be able to clearly see each reading. You can use this button to change the age of the person you are taking a temp from. There is no need to worry about changing from. They sometimes give inaccurate readings and do not always correct for temperature changes, so I dislike temporal thermometers. The Exergen Temporal thermometer that I've had for years is being replaced with this one. Giving me more accurate readings and I like the fact that it lights up so when I need to get up in the middle of the night I can see how it is.
