It's simple to set up this phone. There is a switch on the bottom that allows users to increase the amplifier's volume even more if necessary. It is already quite loud, but it can be made even louder if necessary. THIS PHONE DOESN'T REQUIRE A BATTERY. LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN. THIS PHONE DOESN'T REQUIRE A BATTERY. That's why it's a little more expensive, and even if the phone line goes out, the phone will retain the numbers program. We programmed the phone at home and added photos, then unplugged it and took it to its new home, where we plugged it in and it worked perfectly. One thing to remember is that after you plug it in, pick up the phone and hang it back up to turn on the power. We programmed one and mailed it to another family member (everything worked fine), but some of the numbers required a 1-digit suffix. (Code of the area) - That worked perfectly (we thoroughly tested each program before sending the phone). When the phone rings, a red light blinks, and when the phone is placed on hold, the light remains on. Over the years, we've bought our father a few different amplified phones. So far, this is my favorite. Because phones have all of the controls in the handset, some settings are frequently changed inadvertently. This one's controls are simple and straightforward for him to use. There isn't a single thing that works on this phone. This phone is for my mother, and I ordered it. When I was visiting her from another state, I took down to hook up for her. When nothing worked, I was extremely disappointed. I had taken the time to cut out all of these photos for her to push the buttons to call one of us so she wouldn't have to remember numbers on her other phone, which was plugged into the wall, and it was working fine. Now I have to go find another phone and wait until I see her again to plug it in. Great concept, but the receiver button remained stuck in the down position, and nothing else worked.
When you punch, there is no beep. This phone appears to be in good condition. It's of average quality. We have it set up on the table, but the handset refuses to come off easily. Because you don't hear a beep when you punch in, it's difficult to tell if you punched in the right spot. It was simple to program and use for my elderly parents.
