It is better to be a little large than too small. My wife is 5'4" and 200 lbs the large size fits just right. My wife fits comfortably in a medium. I recommend a large since 215 pounds is quite a lot, so your mother must have an extremely wide build.

Works really well for me when I move my patient in the Hoyer lift. It is a pretty straightforward.
I have not yet used Sling, but it seems to be well built.
We purchased it in a size that was too large. Even so, it's still being used.
Besides the sling being very strong, the straps are also very strong. Despite its size, it is still suitable for someone of a large build If more straps are required to lower the end where the legs of the person being lifted need to be lower than the upper body, they will probably need to be attached with extra chains. allow the liftee to adjust his or her position more easily.
As a backup for my mom, who uses a lift, I purchased this. We have found the product to be sturdy and has worked.
