Sturdy, simple to assemble, and tilt, but a little on the tall side
4/5

For as long as I can remember, I've worked as a nurse. As a result, I've seen a lot of overbed tables in my time. However, when my mother required one for her chair, I had no choice but to purchase one. That was an unusual situation! br>So, after doing some research, I decided to buy this one because it had good reviews. br>It deserved the positive feedback! It only took about 5 minutes to put this together. As is, it's basically put together. br>It's solid and sturdy, but it's also lightweight. The tilt top is convenient because it allows her to prop up a book without having to hold it (she's had extensive surgery on her hands and arms and now suffers from arthritis, so holding things for long periods of time is difficult for her). Even with her arms in such bad shape, she can easily adjust the tilt. br>The only thing I would change is to make it adjustable to a lower height. If Mom uses it on the couch, it will be too high because our sofa is quite low. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of this. br>I noticed a couple of reviews complaining that it couldn't fit under low chairs, etc. Please be aware that the table will need a good bit of clearance to slide under your chair/bed due to the casters and brackets holding it together.

It's useful, but only for over-the-top situations
3/5

the- With assistance, in bed Updated: I ended up using a TV tray a lot more than I expected - If you search Amazon, you'll find a popular one that tilts, is lightweight, folds flat for storage, and is wheelchair friendly for roughly a third of the price. br>br>I was able to get rid of the excess weight. When I was done with the hospital bed, I made a bed table. Even when I used it with the bed, it was difficult to maneuver (I couldn't do it on my own, let alone from a bed), so I ended up keeping it parallel to the bed to keep things within easy reach, just like I do when I'm in the hospital. br>br>I would only recommend this if it is necessary to go over the patient while they are in bed and they will be assisted in doing so. Then there's the one that stays flat, because it's difficult to angle and, while it seemed like a brilliant idea at the time, it's not something I'd use in practice. previous review: br>br>previous review: br>br>previous review: br>previous review: It's useful, but it's difficult to get up and down the stairs. Also, if you try to eat, write, or use a computer on it, the lip around the edge hurts your forearms. In addition, I have a non-alcoholic beverage. This issue does not exist in the tilting version from the same company.

For adjustable beds, this is a fantastic option
5/5

I have four of these, which I use as nightstands. There is enough space for tall adjustable beds. The only drawback is that you often have to place multiple orders. I'm not sure if it's a product defect or a packaging/shipping issue, but the bar that connects the two tables is nearly always broken. The trim and surface are also not of the highest quality. What you put on the surface should be treated with caution. After a month, glue the trim with crazy glue. Instead of returning one of the four, my partner made it fit, but it still does not work. If the items on the table aren't level, the table will tip. Make no attempt to fit it in. Replacing the item. Once you've found a non-profit, you'll need to find a way to It'll be a hit with the damaged one!.

Because of the wide height range, it is suitable for a wide range of applications
4/5

Because of the wide height range, it is suitable for a wide range of applications. I've read in other reviews that it doesn't work well on carpeting and that moving it without spilling something or knocking things off is difficult. I believe I got a good deal for the price I paid, and I've learned to be cautious or ask for assistance when moving it. My husband put it together after it arrived, and he had no trouble figuring out where everything goes. I did warn him that there might be an extra screw and that if he can't find a place for it, he shouldn't get upset. Later on, he explained why the extra screw was included in the package. This item arrived while I was in the hospital, and I made a direct transition from a heavy duty, very stable tray table to this one; however, now that I am used to it, I have no complaints and am very happy that I purchased it.

Problems must be solved! When I buy something, I try to deal with a well-known brand in the hopes of getting a high-quality item, even though I am familiar with this one
3/5

They have disappointed me in this situation. The correct screw is missing from the table's smaller, flat surface, and the holes are not aligned. As a result, you can't use this space because it keeps rotating. Despite the fact that this has been a long-standing issue, the company has done nothing to resolve it. Because there is no way to lock the height adjustment, the second issue occurs when you move the table. It is loose enough that the entire table goes all the way up to its maximum height. This is extremely inconvenient for the person who is lying in bed - Especially if they have poor hand strength and dexterity. There are a few things that could be done better here.

The assembly is where I'm putting the majority of my points
3/5

The assembly is where I'm basing the majority of my rating. The trip rod, which was supposed to be inside the main column, had come loose. The trip rod is never mentioned in the assembly instructions and is only mentioned in the parts list, so after completing the assembly and realizing the trip rod was missing from the column, I had to backtrack and disassemble the entire thing, all while worrying that the last step, removing and replacing a screw on the column base, could cause the high tension spring mechanism to stop working. Thankfully, I was able to reinstall the trip rod in the column without affecting the spring mechanism's functionality. Before attaching the boards with mounting tubes, I hope this company considers revising their instructions to require that people CHECK TO SEE IF THE TRIP ROD IS INSIDE THE MAIN COLUMN. If they did, I'd probably give the product a five-star rating.

Figure 8 is completely incorrect, and the assembly instructions aren't great
3/5

It shows the upright column fitting in on the opposite side of the unit (the larger tray side), and it must be assembled as shown in the photo, with the upright on the smaller tray side. The small tray does not stay perfectly flat for some reason, and will wobble front to back by a 1/4" or so if the wing nut underneath is tight. You can also simply apply slight upward pressure from beneath the surface to raise the surfaces. "Slight" is the key word here. At the slightest provocation, the surface rises. It's a bummer that you can't raise the surface without pressing a lever; you can only lower it. I'd prefer it to lock into position and require the use of the lever to disengage. I like how the larger side can tilt, but I'm not sure my 88-year-old body can. year- Mother, who is in her eighties, will be able to make the necessary adjustments.
