I could not find any which worked This type of cover was recommended by my doctor, however he said it is extremely expensive. However, since the inexpensive ones had not worked, I decided to order this relatively cheap I opened the box and pulled open the package the next day to see my cover at my door The next day! As opposed to any homemade attempt with taping a trash bag to your ankle, which does not work, this keeps your limb dry while you take a shower, and is far superior to any homemade attempt with this. My doctor requires these for his patients so they can bathe and keep the surgical site dry after the follow up foot surgery tomorrow. I will tell him so he can give them to his patients.

It's not just a big plastic bag, it's shaped to fit a foot. Upon trying it out, I found that it works just like a rubbery seal, by sliding her foot through the hole and letting the film form a seal (I also tested it out on my wrist, which is much smaller than her ankle). It is not difficult to accommodate her larger feet (size 10) because they are both heavily bandaged and still heavily clothed. The sandals are well suited for the shower, but we also got her a shower seat to help support her weight when she's unable to bear it It is easy for her to get in and out of her shoes and get into the shower on her own. With the boot still in place after a shower, you can walk on bathroom tile without slipping! The boot is durable and comfortable and you won't slip afterward! Ensure that all water is removed from the top and around the flat seal before you take of the boot (lesson learned, thanks) and you will be as dry as an autumn leaf. I have been using it for over two months now and it is still as good as the day I bought it. You'll need one if you want to take a shower and prevent any water damage.
