So, if you're like me and have a DWI, have a drager interlock system, are on probation, and can't possibly fail your car test while still drinking, you should definitely get one of these. It's given me peace of mind whenever I've had a few drinks the night before and am unsure of my blood alcohol content (BAC). If you've ever failed a car test the morning after, this relieves the stress. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> My device has stopped working, despite the fact that I haven't used it in a long time. It may have only been used 50 times in total, and I can't seem to find a phone number to call. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this purchase.

Finally, a portable version of the real deal. I'm a casual, after-work drinker, and there have been a few occasions when I've been concerned about driving home. Nobody wants to hurt themselves or another person, or go to jail, so I may have had too much to drive safely. br>br>Over the years, I've looked at other units and read reviews on personal breathalyzers, and they've all been keychain junk or, at the very least, have questionable results and stereotypical Chinese build quality. br>br>From the moment you open the box, you will notice that this unit is unlike any other. Each component, from the packaging to the inner workings of the device, has been meticulously crafted. The mouthpiece cover and mouthpiece itself snap on firmly, and it's beautifully finished and heavy in the hand. The interface is simple to use, and the operating system is quick and easy to navigate. The LCD display is clear and easy to read. If we're going to stereotype construction quality, German attention to detail is unmistakable. br>br>The results appear to be accurate, but I don't have a real police unit to compare it to. The outcomes are repeatable, in my opinion. There is little to no difference in the outcome between back-to-back tests. tests on the back It can be charged using any micro USB cable, but mine did not come with one. That is a minor grief because 99% of households will have the cable. It comes with a nice satin bag to protect it from scratches while riding in a car's center console or in your pocket. It isn't inexpensive. br>br> Despite the fact that it is much more expensive than other personal units, it is a fraction of the cost of a law enforcement unit. Court battles are costly, and lives are valuable. In the face of the consequences, low-cost insurance is a good idea. br>br>I give it a solid 5 stars and can't think of a better way to recommend it.

The readings swing wildly in a short period of time; I tested myself 10 times in 30 minutes and the readings swung from to. 045 to . I then put myself to the test with a more professional device, and it stayed fairly consistent between and. 050 - In the same time period, 055 people were killed. DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE TO DETERMINE YOUR ACTUAL BACTERIAL CONCENTRATION! It will deceive you in a dangerous way. I'm kicking myself for spending $200 on this toy. br>br>Update! br>br>After two months of use, the battery has died, and it does not appear to be rechargable! Don't throw away your hard-earned cash!.

After 12 months, it will cease to function. It has been calibrated since the last time it was done. It only worked for me ten months after I bought it. When I contacted Draeger to voice my concerns, a friendly customer service representative emailed me a pre-paid return mailing label. My device was calibrated by Draeger and returned to me at no cost to me. They now offer a 24-month calibration, which they did for my device, despite their website stating that it is only 3-months. Turnaround time is five weeks. In three weeks, I received my device back. br>Without a doubt, this is one of the best devices available. I'm happy now, and I think I can live with a two-year calibration period, though I still wish it would work until the battery died. 'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'br>'b The device has stopped working because it needs to be calibrated. It's only been 7 months since I got it! It's the first time I've used it, and I've only had 15 minutes with it. 20 times! Now I have to re-send it and pay shipping and tax on it. For what? How about another 6 or 7 months? Thank you, but no thanks. This is a ruse and deceptive marketing. br>When it worked, the device was fine. The battery has not been depleted. br>I'm going to buy something else; don't waste your money on this overpriced unit!.

The first ten times I used it, everything went smoothly. Following that, it would simply display an error message indicating that the sample was incomplete. This has been the case for a long time. These units' batteries are not replaceable or rechargeable, as a side note. When the battery is depleted, the unit is discarded.

I purchased this item a few weeks ago, and I've already used it. It appears to be accurate, and I am a fan of Drager products. I had a friend who needed to use a breath test device for work, and they were pleased with the brand. Interesting facts: only one- The button to move through the menus is a little odd, and getting the correct units to display was confusing at first because we had the wrong % unit selected was confusing at first So far, nothing has caused me to second-guess my decision. If you want to be safe and have a reliable product, this device is highly recommended.
