It's only for breast milk, I believe.
Yes! I put my strip on the counter and returned to it being an unusual color.
Yes, there is a guideline on the back of the wrapper that indicates the amount of alcohol in the milk based on the color. All of the strips are one-time use only.
If the pad remains white after 2 minutes from the initial dip, your milk is safe for baby to drink; if the strip has a tint of blue, don't let baby drink milk.

These tests aren't reliable. I tested my breastmilk after my birthday (and a very long night of heavy drinking that lasted several hours) and found no alcohol. Regardless, I was not going to give that milk to the baby. I was well aware of the situation. After that night, I dipped the test strip in straight vodka, and it didn't even turn the dark blue color it should have when testing alcohol in breastmilk. br>In addition, the manual contains a number of typos and grammatical errors, giving me the impression that this company is untrustworthy.
UNSAFE! This was my first time buying Pregmate, and I'm terrified. Following a few glasses of wine the previous weekend, I decided to test my breastmilk. I was curious and wanted to check my alcohol level (I had previously used similar test strips, but they only gave a positive or negative result). Anyway, I was enraged when my alcohol test resulted in a white result (negative). I tested three more strips, but only one of them gave me an accurate result; I'm so glad I discovered this flaw and didn't accidentally feed my baby bad milk one day.
I use these strips to ensure that I haven't consumed too much alcohol (depending on how much food I have in my system). So far, everything has gone well. I'm down to about 0 after 3 glasses of wine. 02% YMMV.
I would strongly suggest it. I tried this product and found it to be satisfactory. I'll keep a few in my diaper bag for unexpected situations. I tested my milk before I had a drink, then after two glasses of wine, and I got a noticeable positive result. I tested my milk again before my midnight feed, and I was back to being alcohol-free. This is an excellent product.
One box is all that is required. I wanted to drink a glass of wine or beer every now and then when I first started breastfeeding (especially since beer is supposed to increase milk supply), but I wasn't sure when I could feed baby after I had a drink. Most websites recommend waiting three hours between drinks, but since everyone is different, I wanted to make sure I was comfortable with these. I used them about a half hour after having a drink to make sure they were accurate, and the test was nice and blue and showed alcohol on the milk, and I did it again two hours later and was fine. They are, in my opinion, the ideal tool for determining how your body processes alcohol. I've learned that after a drink, I should wait at least 2 hours before pumping or nursing.
When I do drink, these have given me a great deal of relief. Knowing the state of my milk is critical to me so that I can continue to enjoy adult activities without endangering my baby. The only thing I'd say to the firm is this: They should increase the size of the "tear off" section. It can be used to catch breast milk after it has been torn off, so I don't have to dirty up a container or look for one on the go! I can make it work, but if the strips were just a little shorter and the tear marks were just a little further down, this product would be damn near perfect! You can thank me for this brilliant idea by sending a few test strip packages! 😂!.
One night, I went to a friend's engagement party and drank about 4 oz of wine an hour before pumping and stripping. Almost immediately, it turned a pale blue color. I use these whenever I have a drink to ensure there is no alcohol in my milk, and after a positive test, I am confident that these are effective!.
FYI, even though it says to wait 2 minutes for results, you should give it a little longer, perhaps 5 minutes. After two minutes, the strip was completely white, but something told me not to discard it just yet, and when I looked at it again a few minutes later, it had turned a little blue. Apart from that, I really enjoy these strips.
