In light of your description, it sounds as though your test strip shows no color change after two minutes, which should be interpreted as a negative result indicating that no alcohol is present. After failing to read the strip for longer than the prescribed time, the chemicals on top of the strip may continue to work, Always read the results 2 minutes after you've taken the test in order to ensure Results after 3 minutes must be considered invalid, since readings after that time should be ignored. With these, it really is important to follow the directions. You need to wait two minutes and then read it two minutes later. You must wait too long before your alcohol reading will be the maximum. I have only used them twice, and both times I received the max reading. In the morning after a long night of drinking, I tested my milk for a 3am feed and found that I was still intoxicated even though I felt fine. So thankfully my husband fed my baby a chilled bottle of milk, or my baby would've had an early night. When I tested the other time after several glasses of wine, it showed a performance rating of A second batch of freezer milk was ready by 08, so I had to thaw it out.
They seem to work but I'm not sure. The sample was taken an hour after drinking a beer, but there was no response. Is there too little alcohol in the sample or the kit doesn't work? My point is, I don't know.
It is not clear how the results were described. I'm not a fan of these comics. In terms of what each result color means, they are not specific enough. In addition to the vague results in their descriptions, I am just curious if it is safe to breastfeed after using these strips. It has more clear instructions than Upspring strips.
I am so glad I used these strips to double check my alcohol level before nursing my baby.
In case you were wondering, I soaked one in 80 proof whiskey and it still read 0 after I saturated it. At the 2 minute mark, there was a 0. 8% increase. There is a great deal of error in these, and I would not recommend buying them.
During the time that I nursed my son, I regularly used these. work fast and are very effective, but having said that, the white tip is not a pure white tip, so I would toss milk if that tip even appeared as if it was darkening. My decision to be safe was based on my judgment. A great product overall! It would be great if it could detect caffeine safely!.
There is no truth to these. In fact, after one glass of wine, the chart completely turned blue. Suspicious that the chart wasn't accurate, we did another control test with previously pumped milk without alcohol consumption and the result was the same. Save your money and don't waste it.
