Really, not at all. My footbed padding for my air cast did not need any adhesive since the material does not have adhesive on either side. It can be cut to any shape. I used it to make custom footbed padding for my air cast. The material stayed in place well without any adhesive. When you sweat, it sticks to your skin. It is smooth to the touch, but it sticks to your skin if you sweat a lot.
I'm not sure why you were thinking of a sheet of window glass, really. In general, it has no color. The white or light gray you see in the picture is the paper wrapping material that it comes in.
